Great presentation 🙂 The place has changed a lot since I left there in 2004. My old street (saxton) still looks the same and the pressie church looks to have been restored at some stage.

My girlfriend and l were driving in a VW van from Sydney to Melbourne in 1990. We stopped in Jugiong. My surname is Sheehan and I was told that there were lots of Sheehans living there. We called to the hotel for a few drinks that evening. We met a local man and I told him my surname was Sheehan. He said it was unfortunate that there were no Sheehans in the bar that night as usually there would be at least a few, and somtimes many more. We drove on to Melbourne the following day but I was disappointed as l would have loved to have met one.

That’s a great story. What a pity that you never got to talk to them. I bet they have quite a heritage there. They may have been the first settlers of the district. I only took photos of the area as it’s a little village.

lol, barefoot means the movie is natural and goes into more detail than the average walking tour movie. Very limited amount of editing, just point the iPhone in the right direction and walk.

Yep, Hall is great - especially the huge amounts of parkland down by the creek. Can get quite busy on weekends. Its quite pricy to live there though - a lot of people want the village feel close to the city. Of course Hall has been there a lot longer than Canberra, thankfully it hasn't changed too much (just don't look too closely at the shops). The highway used to run right through it. Probably only 20 years ago some of the back streets were still dirt, but all sealed now with their fancy houses. Cheers, (another village to check out is Tharwa - opposite end of the city though!)

I wanted to do some suburban streets there, and show more detail with the local flora and fauna. Unfortunately the iPhone's battery went flat just as I was filming the showgrounds.
@neil2402Ай бұрын
Hey, that's not far from me! Some nice spots down there by the lake, but maybe not so much behind all the restaurants. If you had gone a little further in John Knight park, then you would have got to the creek area with lots of rocks, ponds, and a flowing (pumped) creek. There is also a nice little island there in the Casuarina trees. Diddams close is also nice as a family picnic area, but John Knight park is the pick. Cheers, (oh and I hate that ugly tower they've built next to the mall - so out of place)

Thanks for the input. I did a reconnaissance drive around Belconnen CBD before I started filming. I normally go into more detail with my movies, but this time I decided to spend time and energy on the lake and foreshore area instead. I also wanted to do a second suburb and came across Hall, which I am glad I did. This is why not all of Belconnen was filmed.
