I usually put mine above my right shoulder, but I might try lower down to catch more bass drum and have less to do with EQ later.

I don't know how you keep up with beats this fast!
@RadioActiveBreakfast3 жыл бұрын
A lot of practice :p but no... a lot of practice with like the push pull to get the 'skip' part of the jazz pattern down to throw that in wherever in your phrasing and also to basically think and feel it all in half time so you feel like youre floating a lil more than basically micromanaging your own playing beat by beat

Dude, your a good player, that’s obvious! However, way over played some parts. It’s so hard to play creative and musical parts while still keeping the groove simple enough for the rest of the band to play around and in with! It’s an art! Thus, why so many killer drummers are not pro drummers in pro bands.

Nah actually Daru designed his kit off of mine... Haha jk but this is just a pdp x7 i got years before he did that club kit. just happens to be the same wrap. You can see me using more of the toms for the set in my more recent videos

Great! I am a rock drummer but want to play like that.
@RadioActiveBreakfast3 жыл бұрын
Ya man! I won't say im much of a jazz drummer at all, but the key to versatility for me is just listening to a bunch of the music and immersing yourself in the genre and get the 'language' in you so when you play jazz and make your musical decision it comes from the same feeling you felt when hearing the greats do it on the records you heard!
