WOW. You saved me a service call. When my dryer lights were lighting up like a Christmas tree, I found this video. It fixed it. I thought my dryer was fried and I was frantically thinking how am I going to afford a new one. Amazed that GE manual makes no mention of this fix.

It was great help in guiding me in removing the present one. The previous owner stuck the mounting plate to the tiles. So I had to let it drop and fold 90deg for the glue to let go. Thanks for your video.

Ive got a 2011 accord 2.4L. with 113,000 miles. No slipping but the shifts are starting to become delayed (revving higher than normal before shifting) the fluid has a light brown color to it, and i’m not sure if its the trans but at low acceleration there is a whine. Do you recommend a basic drain and fill. Or do you think it would start slipping.
@StimwaltАй бұрын
It’s time for 3 things. New spark plugs, 1 engine flush, and 3 ATF drain and fills. Between each drain and fill drive on the highway for 20 minutes so the ATF hits the torque converter, then let it sit overnight to get cold before next ATF drain and fill. You should see more power and smoother shifts afterwards. The engine is dirty, plugs are old, and ATF is dirty. Could also clean mass airflow sensor too.
@protokille9111Ай бұрын
@@Stimwaltthanks alot 🙏, and yeah it was throwing an airflow sensor code that goes on and off to. when you say engine flush do you mean oil change? thanks again.
@StimwaltАй бұрын
@@protokille9111 It’s basically an oil change, but with a flushing agent like this, and you put in fresh oil afterwards: amzn.to/4ae4qvT

Yes, GREAT video. I do recommend that ALL of the crimped ends of pipe/connectors/elbows be pointed out of the house (NOT toward the dryer). And although you didn't mention it, NEVER use screws to hold pieces together. The reason for both is to avoid anything that can catch lint (which inevitable will build up over time).

Why the Drama anout Cold / Hot put the Same amount back in . Just put Shy 1 qt. Back and fine Tune the Level with the Dipstick
@Stimwalt3 ай бұрын
It’s simple, work smarter not harder. Transmission fluid expands with heat and shrinks when cold. So if you empty while hot, but then add in room temp or cold fluid, you will in fact not be adding a 1:1 amount, because 1 quart cold != 1 quart hot. So you should always add cold fluid to a cold transmission, because heat throws off the measurements. It’s smarter and less work this way, because what you measured coming out will always match what’s going in, as the levels will be 1:1.
@donalbershardt92903 ай бұрын

Most modern cars have small engine bays. Try doing it in mounted transversal V6. You don't only have to remove the covers but other internal parts. The normal civic with the small engine does not have this in issue.

Doesn’t matter if the fluid is cold, warm, or hot, if you measure and put in exactly what you take out, it's the exact same thing. If you're doing three drain and fills consecutively, the fluid will eventually get hot, expand, etc...which contradicts your stance in the video. What did you use to cut the shield?
@Stimwalt5 ай бұрын
This is wrong. Ultimately, if the fluids being exchanged are the same temperature, then you can do the 1:1 volume replacement. If the engine is warm and the replacement fluid is room temperature, the amounts won’t be 1:1, they will be different amounts. This is because ATF expands with heat. Thus the warm ATF will drain out “more” fluid than is actually being replaced, which is a problem. I did three drain and fills over three days, each time was a cold drain and fill, meaning the engine was cold, fluids were room temperature, hence 1:1 replacements.
@frugalfreddy815 ай бұрын
@Stimwalt good feedback brother. As an engineer that makes sense in which is probably why slightly high on cold readings. I check my level after I posted this lol. What did you use to cut out the area?
