Your friends may have meant that within the D&D world Tieflings are a very marginalised race. They're seen as the "Rromani" of the dnd world and have been labeled with the title of theives, liars, demons etc due to them being the dnd worlds version of hell spawn. I personally can't stand playing dnd where the dm decides to bring those racial connotation out and now my character can't go anywhere without having to role deception and persuasion all the time

Rebranding is fun but so time consumer. I'm working on my right now for instagram and I made a little animation (first time) and now I'm drawing a full on comic just for people to feel more attached for the characters (they are not personas)

I’m still on my reworking phase since I failed so hard on my first attempt especially since real life factors didn’t work out. But I don’t mind failure means I can try again with a better understanding on what I’m doing next round! I only have a few things fully developed but I’m hoping next year I can do better. Far Away Star... the real reason I like her... is the dull light in a sea of skies she represents. I asked someone to make her statue on a game, and they did. Maybe it wasn't really kindness, but it was there. Gullibility might be the root, but what project doesn't have weeds in the garden?

I'm a mixed bag. I /try/ to make content like gameplay, but the rest of my content steers close to the 16 1/2 to 50 yr old range with dumb memes (mine are dumb anyway) sprinkled in. So, I know how it feels to have to put a filter on one's own audience, and the platform missing the mark. What I like about Far Away Star is her proxy. She is (or soon, was?) a Pokémon, so working into her a sort of hard worker vibe is very easy with very little work on my end. And the flexibility of her being a multi-timeline creature means I don't have to worry about a main timeline. However, I do regret not being able to adapt her to today's environment. Due to her being a 'nonapproved' Pokémon. I did ask her to be an Eevee, so that's on me. I should probably modify her, at least for now. As for my OC collection as a whole, I like them because they apply color theory very well. It is vague but there. The trend is like a giant rainbow. (And to those trying to steal (?) the rainbow, rainbows are meant to be peaceful, not prideful.) Just in case I offend anyone 'homophobic' that also happens to be part of the pride flag community like some Frankenstein's philosophy... Paradox is a character of mine, and 'her' gender is... Paradox. So, yes, I do have the inclusivity card. I also have the exclusivity card because Edge ties with Paradox... and Edge is female. No special tweaks, just female. So, basically another thing I like about my OCs is... it is very hard for any community to complain about them in an irrational way. Keeps people quiet, and sometimes my brain quiet, so I can focus on what is important. Pride flag community? Covered. OP community? Covered. Fake sympathy community? Covered. One-Medium-Only communities? Well, I can't win them all over, can I? Anyway... You get the idea.

Understandable for your channel reset. ...however I still do not understand what attracts kids, because your OG persona didn't really have anything that stood out as FOR KIDs to me.

Im honestly so disappointed with the results, everything alpay was given for digital was practically a (semi-)realistic style 😭 dont get me wrong they were all amazing!! But not 1 exaggerated style like yours, mine, many others i saw 😢😢

Creating shorts is such a double edged sword. Yes, you get the views and likes, but it's without a real community. Most people who came from shorts aren't gonna stick around for long form content, they'll just keep scrolling. It's sad because it's such a great opportunity to grow your channel, but you have to wonder if it's really worth it or not.

I tried dabbling into YT shorts since my dad recommended me to do them if I wanted to grow my channel more. when I did make them, it got tons of dislikes and backlash from randoms because they took a joke I made the wrong way. I personally feel like unless if you're making mainstream content that appeals to most people, you'll have a hard time getting any engagement if your content is made for a specific niche like original characters (especially in my case) the comment sections are absolutely vile too I also tried doing Insta reels and they performed somewhat better compared to shorts, but then again it's most of my followers who engage with said reels. so you also have to rely on the community you've built previously to get to watch your videos they also destroy attention spans too, it's even worse when ADHD is involved. hence why I found myself scrolling on reels for an half an hour because I didn't have anything better to do. it feels mentally draining for my already terrible attention span

Bestie, I feel you!! No, don’t get me wrong. I love the fact that a lot of people see my content. But it gets extremely annoying when a video that took you days even MONTHS to complete only gets nine views and maybe two likes. But then the very next day you decide to throw together an art time lapse short, and then that thing gets 10k views and 135 likes!!!! Like Excuse me?

I appreciate your sentiment, but you should remember the era in which Markiplier exploded in was a completely different internet environment and culture. Art content may arguably be one of the most difficult corners of KZbin to successfully build a loyal and strong following. Watchers these days have a significantly smaller attention span, and the majority of artists I see these days that get decent view counts usually promote borderline NSFW stuff. Which, in my opinion, is even more soul sucking than getting popular off of youtube shorts 🤷‍♀️

I do a mix of shorts and long-form content, but I definitely enjoy making long-form content more. This is an interesting point I never thought about…I wonder if my shorts are hurting my long-form videos?…they don’t seem to be, but also I haven’t had a viral short so maybe that’s why.

Thank God I never got used to watching YT shorts. TvT Also, I agree! Making YT shorts content makes your channel easily lose views with just one long upload sadly.. T_T
