What good stores are in the area? Im in HoCo md. I heard you speak of silver spring
@TapeTimewithTom14 ай бұрын
I found that most franchised thrift stores (like Goodwell) no longer sell VHS tapes, unless you get lucky. I usually stick with the Mom&Pop, independent thrift stores or record stores. Also check out Third Eye Music and Video in Annapolis. They have a good selection.

I think you need to watch the film again, as you missed that Jackson Bentley is telling the story at the start of the movie he is at the memorial service at Saint Paul’s. He is asked if he knew Lawerance and almost gets into a fight with a pompous British guy for saying he had more front than Barnum & Bailey. Other than that, it’s a great video!
@TapeTimewithTom15 ай бұрын
That’s exactly right! Bentley and other folks who have crossed paths with Lawrence are featured in the prologue of the film. Ended up editing that portion of the video out that mentions this, but good eye! Lawrence of Arabia is indeed very rewatchable after you’ve seen it for the first time.

Who would win, Jimmy Neutron or Dexter? 👀

that's a tough question, and on any given day you can make a solid argument for either side, but for the sake of nostalgia, I gotta side with my boy Jimmy.

I have a great AMC Dolby and IMAX theater near me. I have AMC A-list and I saw Tenet in every possible format about a dozen times, since it was still hot in September in Florida. The whole movie was like the second draft of the script, where both previous versions were completed on a drinking binge. Inception was infinitely better, and a much tighter script/story in every possible way.

thanks for your input, that's awesome you got to see it in theaters so many times!

What's funny about Music Of The Heart is that it was a passion project for Wes Craven. In fact, in order to get the film made at Miramax, he was contractually obligated to do Scream 3 immediately afterwards, and that's what ultimately happened.

Forte is very cool. I just hoped this movie could somehow fit better in the continuity and Belle wasn't so gullible and putting herself in the same danger she barely escaped days ago. She isn't like this in the original.

I grew up with that movie. I don't know something about seeing the Christmas ornaments. Ribbons it was like I don't know asmr to me but visually. Like back down as a kid seeing the smoothness and hearing. It was satisfying to me as a kid but I didn't understand until now.

I love the collection. I think I only have about 400 VHS tapes but want a lot more. I want to make a little home video store at some point. Maybe a blockbuster lol. I get most of my VHS from a thrift store near me that sells them for a quarter so I buy nearly all of them when I go. All the good horror ones are never to be found sadly.

Same, I very rarely if ever find any horror movies in my area. It's a special day if I manage to find something like that.

Very cool haul. I grew up with those editions of the Star Trek movies when I was a kid, in the '90s, and I'm trying to re-acquire at least the first five, if not all six. Naturally, being the Star Trek fan that I am, I own all of them on DVD, but it'd be nice to have all of them on VHS again too.

I just stumbled here from watching another youtuber react to The Neverending Story. I really enjoyed your guy's commentary and the whole VHS nostalgia is really great. Hope to see more 80s fantasy reactions. Especially the Last Unicorn. Would be really interested in seeing that! (it was my favorite film as a child). I watched Legend on tape back in the early 90s! Definitely a classic from my childhood. Meg Mucklebones is indeed the scariest part of the movie, and the dancing dress scene was very seductive for a kids movie, lol.
@TapeTimewithTom1 Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I love the Last Unicorn, I just gotta find it on VHS first lol. You better believe as soon as grab it, there'll be a commentary video on it.
@candicewaller403 Жыл бұрын
@@TapeTimewithTom1 I have it on tape, but like so many of the movies from my childhood it was recorded off the TV. My parents would record 2 or 3 movies per tape and arranged them all in a library with an address book type situation that let you know which tape a movie was on. The Last Unicorn is hanging out with Tom Thumb and Garfield on an 8hr cheap off-brand VHS.

I've always found this movie really hard to watch -- I struggle to explain it. I think its the sound and the camera work, possibly a bit too dreamlike.
@TapeTimewithTom1 Жыл бұрын
Having just watched it for the first time, I found that in hindsight what's most memorable is the mood and tone more than the plot itself. I think it's best to watch it with the intention of just experiencing it than understanding it. Hope that helps!
