I grew up in Old Town Eastbourne attending St Mary's Junior school. In the early / mid 1970's it was my first local where I cut my teeth on Harvey's bitter. Been back many times. One of England's finest. My Dad drank there post WW2. I doubt anybody remembers if this is true? .. He told me that the Landlord served via a hatch. If he did not like you then go away...hatch slammed shut. Christmas eve's in the lower bar circa 1972 - 1976 were some of the best nights of my life. Never saw a ghost but I remember the bus crash. I did get a chill many times but that was due to getting rid of thousands of pints in the gents. Hope to return in my 8th decade!!! I also remember drinking there under age. At 18 it was common to get a pewter tankard which The Lamb kept hanging from the rafters behind the bar. Nobody ever asked why you were a two year regular putting an 18th birthday tankard behind. Maybe we claimed to be very young 21 year olds?

I enjoy researching the stories behind haunting to find old newspaper articles pertaining to said stories but if there's no historical reports then my first port of call is to find the source of the first story of the occurrence of the haunting, e.g. a book, or again newspaper, or online article - and then contact the author to see where they heard about it. These stories or reports of haunting always start somewhere with someone. I just am never easy just seeing if there's ghosts , it feels like being at a zoo to see there's animals - I like to know the real story and find facts and people behind them as that's where the interests are.

@ClarkesHorrors I live round the corner, always been fascinated by this place and it's history. Bit jealous lol never had the opportunity to meet the owner let alone the offer of a tour! Very few have I'm sure! It would be an absolutely amazing video, massively popular with the large railway enthusiast youtube crowd as well I should think. Pretty sure there was a rumour of a sherman tank bricked up behind a cavity halfway along the tunnel in WW2. Maybe an urban myth but the whole place is shrouded in interesting history and myth hence Dickens ghost story based on it. If you fancy a companion on your visit let me know I would absolutely love it. Also an awesome Saxon church 50 metres away dating back before the Doomsday book and of course the Windmills on Clayton Hill ....oh and some WW2 archaeology a few hundred metres away too in the form of a firing range. Namaste

I stayed there recently and was told by a member of staff (all of whom were lovely) that they had heard reports of staff and guests seeing ghosts, including a lady in white, but that nothing scary or spooky had gone down. Just an old building full of stories.

Ok here's some locations for you. I have been to many hotels over the years and here are 3 very haunted hotels. THE TUNBRIDGE WELLS HOTEL GHOST The Tunbridge Wells Hotel has got itself a bit of a reputation for being haunted. Many, many years ago, before the building was a hotel, it went by the name of ‘High House’. The story goes that a young woman leapt to her death, broken hearted, after being refused access to her lover - very Romeo and Juliet. Her ghost is said to haunt Room 16 where bedroom furniture mysteriously moves around, and sheets have been thrown across the room. There has only been one sighting of the young maiden; this was in 1997 when it is said that a ghostly woman in grey was seen wandering the halls, witnessed by terrified guests and staff alike. Red lion hotel Colchester room 10 Grosvenor Hotel, Shaftesbury, Dorset room 12 All rooms are haunted by female ghosts.

All stories, legends and half remembered tales are always worth an investigation even if nothing of note happens. I, for one, would kick myself if I hadn't investigated a location and a whole books worth of phenomena was witnessed the next day. All legends and fables are thought to have been ground in truth back through history so they can never be willfully written off. Great vid and the history was interesting. Thanks for the watch and better luck next time n place mate.

All these ghost busting channels use the ghost busting gadgets like, spirit boxes, emf meters, cat balls etc. Without using these there channels would die. No science behind any ghost busting gadget. For example a cat ball are a cats toy that's all, but for some reason the ghost busting world have decided that they flash because a dead person touches them... 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

I honestly don’t believe anywhere is haunted at all, at all, why because although all of these stories are told by those who stay in these haunted buildings about multiple ghosts but when investigators actually do real investigations or a scientific investigations there, they never get anything, ever, it’s usually quiet and nothing happens, at all, I don’t know why I even watch these useless videos any more, I do believe in ghosts but all these places usually don’t. Weald results, even similar to the reports at all
@theofficialjamaicainnparan16568 ай бұрын
Lovely video, but can I correct some errors please. We have new history that will be updated soon. The Inn was built in 1776 as a farm before becoming a rough and ready Inn. Daphne du Maurier was actually staying at the Inn, hence why the horses knew their way home in 1930. She came back the following year in November 1931 and had afternoon tea, (it was a Temperance House for 70 years) with the local Vicar of Alturnun who told her tales of Smuggling and wreaking, which started the idea that formed into the famou book. The first paranormal sighting was outside on the wall in 1911. There are no bad spirits here, just a prankster and much more. Hannah is a folklore in room 5, which has grown over the years, though a little boy and girl have been reported many times. You will need hours to hear all the history and paranormal reports which have been documented for many years. It might be an idea to join on a private team hire, so you are allowed to investigate the building. x
@ClarkesHorrors8 ай бұрын
Hi! Thanks so much for commenting, and for the corrections ☺ Fascinating history, I'd love to delve deeper still. Unfortunately I live quite far from the Inn itself, but would love to return to join a group investigation one day when I'm able!

Nice.. It's fascinating that your motion sensor cameras were triggered multiple times. I usually discount "orbs" as motes of dust, but your bedroom appears to have several of them 17:51 onward.
