Foo Fighters are one of the most generic sounding bands around, Nirvana was original and the rae energy they had is unsurpassed

Foo fighters have been around sing 1994, so it's the other bands that sound like them. And with 30 years of relevancy they have inspired multiple generations of bands. I agree Nirvana, but it's a tougher call than it looks on the surface.

I never thought about it but it’s true. They’re the last. The genre will always be around but it’s heyday was 2nd half of 20th century. Now it’s hip hops turn to retire

Music always cycles around. Right now the slow, very glossy-sounding hip hop is everywhere, and you almost never hear a guitar. But people get sick of hearing the same thing over and over, and then rock will come back.

My counter is that they are not as popular or awarded as Foo Fighters. For 30 years FF has produced a ton of music, sold a lot of records, and won a bunch of Grammys.

Yeah. Theyve always been very poppy. Even the lyrics are cliches and kinda cheesy.

Semantics. They are absolutely a rock band AND pop since they chart. What other band had been around as long, is as prolific, wins as many Grammys, and charts like Foo Fighters? We didn't say "best", or "favorite", mind you.

Yeah last great. And then I gave you the parameters I used to come up with that moniker. They're not my favorite band. They are not the most talented players, or write the best songs based on my subjective opinion. But no other band of their generation has the combination of longevity, being prolific, albums sold, and Grammy's won. Can you give me an example to counter my argument?
