There's a whole strategy you could look up for Winehilde, but considering how close you got to beating her without it, I'd say to try it again and use Sidestep from the merchant job. It lets the user dodge physical attacks. And if you boost before using it, it increases how many attacks you can dodge. Put Tressa in the party and one other person with Merchant as a secondary, make them keep Sidestep up as much as possible, and you can probably stay alive long enough to beat her.

Annoyingly, there's a chest in the very back of the black market area, past where the boss fight triggered. You have to walk all the way back in there to get it, and I don't remember if the treasure is even worth the trip unless you're going for the 100% chests achievement. I think there's one or two other map areas that you haven't gotten to yet that are similar.

I don't think you've shown too many of the optional "dungeon" areas of the game yet. Not sure if you're doing them off screen or something. But when I was helping my husband with his 100% run, the guide would recommend tackling those dungeons after finishing everyone's chapter 1's, chapter 2's, etc. When we did that, we got to the point where we were a bit overpowered for the main story line. So if you feel like you're struggling, those areas would be a great place to go. On the other hand, I've seen a lot of people on Reddit say that the game became way too easy for them, to the point where they started installing level cap mods and things like that. If you plan on tackling the dungeons, one strategy that you can use is getting the ingredients for a Pomegranate Panacea. You need Purifying Dust (purchase in the shops in Saintsbridge, Quarrycrest, Noblecourt, Goldshore, Stonegard, Wellspring, Wispermill, or Marsalim) and Essence of Pomegranate (steal off of the Mossy Meeps and Marmots in the Path to the Whisperwood near S'warkii). Mix together with Alfyn's Concoct ability, and enjoy the +2 BP to all allies. Pair it together with some of the final skills of each class, such as Olberic's Brand's Thunder for impressive damage.

Thank you for the comment! I know I’ve been silent on the optional areas. I tried to explain why in the next video (I just did Therion’s chapter 3). But there is usually no point of showing them off because you are just fighting the entire time and I don’t think it’s worth recording and such. So unless there is an area you absolutely want to see me do, I just don’t see the point of showing it off. Sorry if I’m disappointing you. Also, I do appreciate all the tips you given me though I may not use them all because I kinda want to play it my own way but it does go to show there are different ways to play and I feel like that’s cool!

@MNIDakota Yeah, makes sense! There's some of them that are tied to side quests, so you could show those off if you plan on showing all of the side quest sompletions, but otherwise, I agree that it's probably best to cut them out if it's just a bunch of fighting. The only places I'd like to see are when you go to the final 4 shrines. I mentioned it in a previous comment, but the jobs you get there aren't as easy to get as the base jobs you have now. I'm really interested to see how easily you manage to get them without looking up a strategy guide.

Pretty sure enemies will always go first after recovering from Break status, regardless of whether they've been slowed by leghold trap or not. Also, Brand's Thunder is the GOAT. Especially if you get the break damage limit skill and buff Olberic up beforehand.

Were the other competitors just standing around? Yes, they hang out in that alcove before each battle. And if you're going for the Collector achievement, their weakness information is considered an "item" that you need to collect. After this chapter, you can find them hanging out in various locations, so you can steal their weapons or challenge them, including the other competitors that were introduced in the beginning that you didn't fight.

One thing I noticed with these side quests is that, sometimes, a new npc will show up somewhere AFTER you start the quest. The problem is that there's no hint for where to look, and not all npcs are inside the towns. So you basically have to visit every location and talk to everyone to find what you're looking for if you want to complete all the side quests.

Most of the optional caves have a boss that's tied to a side quest. But there are a couple here and there that are just there for chests and a few unique enemies if you're going for 100% achievements. Also, most of the time, after you beat the boss of the area, it becomes a low-chance regular encounter in that area, which means it's possible to capture it with H'annit. The Leviathan is one such enemy. But there's only, like, a 3% chance to encounter it, and the capture rate is also going to be low. So it's up to you if you want to go for it. I also recently learned that it's possible (but low chance) to capture Caits! Their skill gives you a pretty good buff, or so I hear. I never tried it, personally.

You're starting to get to the point with these bosses where you might want to start using certain skills to your advantage. The Hunter's Leghold Trap ability forces the enemy to act at the end of each round, giving you as many turns as possible to break it before it can act. This is especially useful for bosses who act three turns in a row. The Merchant's Sidestep ability makes a physical attack miss the character. It doesn't help against magical attacks, but you can pair it with the Warrior's Cover support skill. Cover causes the equipped character to take a hit for an injured ally, but sidestep will cause the physical attack to miss. There's a later boss where the whole strategy is to have Tressa in the party, along with one other person using the Merchant class. Have your other two non-merchants die in a random battle, then use Revive on them to bring them back to 1 hp. Use Sidestep and cover on your two merchants, and enjoy complete damage immunity for the rest of the fight. Also, it's kind of pointless to leave your unused party members equipped with items and jobs. You can always re-equip them when you switch them into the party, but in the meantime, go.ahead and let Cyrus learn all of the different jobs. You can equipthe support skills you learn even if you're not using the associated job at the time. I believe Dancer (in the Sunlands) has SP Regen as a support skill, and Merchant should have SP saver, both excellent skills for Cyrus to have. Merchant also has the Rest ability, to let Cyrus recover SP if he gets low.

The shrine you saw in the level 45 area should be ignored until at least level 50 or so. The map is set up in "rings", basically. All of the chapter 1's are located in the towns of the inner ring, chapters 2 and 3 are set in the middle ring, and chapter 4's are in the outer ring. The basic class shrines you're looking for are all just outside of the towns at in the middle ring. There's one in each zone (meaning one in the sunlands, riverlands, clifflands, etc.)

I believe her using Megidolaon with Pixie is a reference to SMT3 where if you keep the pixie you recruit at the start of the game, you'll get an OP version of pixie with really high stats and Megidolaon.

You can get different travel banter, depending on who's in your party. I've also recently learned that sometimes you'll get travel banter by specifically walking into the tavern. Although, those seemed to happen when doing everyone's chapter 4 or after, when completing the last of the side quests. Also, I need you to promise that you'll complete the side quests. Even if it means that you look up the solutions. They are worth the effort.

You can also find Tony's mother down south near the inn, and lead her to him. It's a pretty funny scene where she chews him out for annoying Mathilda. Also, I found out recently that you can Donate BP even if Tressa doesn't have any BP. Free BP is always a good thing! Now that you have all of your party members, there are a few optional dungeons around each of the starting towns that you should be able to tackle. There's only one I can think of that has a quest associated with it. You need to Guide/Allure the NPC into the dungeon and find a specific thing. I won't spoil it more than that. I also highly recommend that you put on Cyrus's skill that lessens the random encounters, I don't remember the name. And then put Ophilia in your party and put on the skill that makes running away from battles easier. Then, go to the maps that are just outside of the next towns you're trying to go to. There's a little icon on the map that looks like a harp to me, but it's probably not. It will look like a cave when you get to it. Anyways, I think you'll be amazed with what's in each location. The location itself is safe, but getting to it might be difficult unless your character's levels are in the 20s. Hence why you want to equip Cyrus and Ophilia with their respective skills, so that you can survive the journey. There's 8 of them, by the way.
