Wow. I never thought I would see film from the 1990s. I grew up right next door to the park at Solid Oak Apartments. My Great Grandmother worked in the candy shop. I would sneak in with her and just play at the park all day as a kid. I remember Tom Sawyers Landing. There was a huge rope climb around there, was so fun. The balloons area I hung out in a lot. It's totally different nowadays. Loved feeding the goats as a kid. Great memories! Thank you sharing. Not much footage out there.

This is amazing!! When everyone else was going to California, Florida or Colorado for vacations, we were heading to SDC. Its honestly one of my favorite places to be. This 90's video reminds me of being in middle school and I love it. Thanks for posting!!

Oh my goodness. This is my childhood. That play area in the beginning was taken out not long after my first visit to SDC back in '94. This is the best view of the Shanty Town play area I've ever seen. There are few images out there that show it as extensively as this video does. And there're the swings and the slides and the path behind the waterfall and the waterboggan. Oh my, the nostalgia.
