My neighbor is a 70 year old cabinet maker. He has this exact routing table. I'm not joking. He sent me the video. He has the entire system. Down to the router bits. I'm lucky enough to use the system. I'll be attempting my first cabinet on Wednesday, may 29th, 2024.

My dad got a hanging grandfather clock head in 1978 from his job for 25 years of service. My brother and his wife still have it 45 years later. In 1978 I was in the seventh grade.

Historically they were 1/2 round 1/4" staples and all were attached before assembly took place. I have been a wood worker since the 60s and have yet to see the antique machine that did that as all those old staples had no stop marks. I understand how they originally cut the louv3ers with 2 dowel ends and a machine set that center staple to a prescribed depth but how that rod was attached is beyond me. I am restoring some 8" wide by 27" long shutters and some are missing that pin. It takes me up to 1/2 hr or more to make a staple and try and install it with all the others in place. Every time I do it I invent new curse words! Tkx for the helpful video!

What a fantastic video. I saw Richard from Finish Carpentry TV using your bits and started looking around. This is a FANTASTIC tutorial filled with all the school of hard knocks tips. I'm sure I'm going to cut the groove/tongue on the wrong side eventually, but that'll be on me! I love the idea of doing the face frame first to ensure everything is squared up. Thanks again. Looking forward to using your router bits.

Cabinets can display anything. Nobody but nobody addresses the issue of shop dust covering the French cleat items. Cabinets with sliding doors will solve the problem. No back to cabinet. Hang French cleat items in cabinet. Use lexan panel for visibility. Your thoughts. Better yet build one and make the video!!!! Thx Bruce. Cleats and Cabinets ( sort of like root beer and ice !)

the one thing I do not like about the EASY MARK is the fact there are no numbers to go by for drawer handle settings, I had different width screw holes, tricky to use for handle placement

This is such a worthwhile series. The only complaint I have is that I'm an Aussie and I have only ever used metric! I don't think it would stop me from building this though. You make it look so simple and even as someone with woodwork experience, I'm not intimidated by it at all. I also like it that you have all your own templates and router bits specifically for this project. I would probably consider making some very minor design changes but this is such a relatively simple design, any changes would be superficial.

I’ve always wanted to do this. I even started on one once but never got beyond the base. I have half way decent wood skills and I have done courses in woodwork, which I really enjoyed. You have cleared up an awful lot of mysteries about making a long case clock. Thank you. My only problem is that I have never used feet and inches - well, not since I was a child - and I would have to convert everything to metric but 8 think it could be done. This is exactly the style of clock o want to build and I would make very few changes. Americans are also very lucky when it comes to choice of Timbers. In Australia virtually all of our Timbers are hardwoods and they are notoriously difficult to work. I have used imported Timbers like walnut and maple but I would prefer oak because I like the look of it. Anyhow, thanks again.
