My Mother Luisa was from one of the villages in Pepjei Rotuma. Sadly Mother has now passed away...maybe one day I come to see Rotuma.💔

6:23 that place is called Lau.... 2019 during mother's day... Me and my brother spend one week in that yellow house... And the only person i know that used to live there is Kamoe.... And the Green house I've forgotten who lives there, and there's a white church beside the yellow house.... And my village in Rotuma is Motusa...

Those kids are the personification of white washed. Paper back Polynesians only bring sadness to the ancestors. In a generation or two their little ties to the pacific will be forgotten. 😢

The man calling out the koua for your mamasa, short cut! Please, Rotumans who are taking up the roles as Mafua, please dont pick stuff from here and there and make up your own stuff, sit with an elderly mafua and learn properly! This is sad, most people today are doing short cut style with calling out the koua and paega. It is really disapointing to see such short cut. Please Rotumans, let us keep our culture and not short cut the calling

Kathy here, I'm so sorry - this was not the fault of the Mafua. This was a result of the video editing process to keep the story flowing but not the fault of our hosts and we will be more conscientious in future pieces as to how the editing process affects protocols. Please forgive us as we are still learning and we appreciate you taking the time to review. Fḁiåkse‘ea.

the Aitu ( Gods ) are sick at how the people have brought into the lies of christians and others , it is they who demand an end to these vile religions and a return to tradition .

Hey bula vinaka, I grow up in the village of Navolau no 1 in rakiraki .ra, but I live in Aussie most of my life for almost 30 something yrs. I still remember when I was young going to church every Sunday. When times comes for prayer, we always heard some of the elders saying in their prayers every Sunday, please God help Fiji and Rotuman. And I always ask my self why they always mention this place witch is really doesn't exist In my mind or even knows where this place are. Even my step grandfather used to say that all the time he pray. So when I grow up and hear the story around the village saying that Rotuman is Fijian. Oh wow, Rotuman is Fijian Hawaii and they belong to Fiji. Yadra from the brothers from the west.
