How many dresses Betty got for playing less than a dumb moll in EVERY episode of Barnaby Jones!

Betty is so bad, even her jokes fall flat. She MUST have had a godfather in the studios.

Lee Meriwether: "I definitely consider myself to be one of the lucky ones." That she is. She's the biggest wimp in this entire series, appearing in EVERY episode and with no more of a role than the indoor office plant. Must have had a sugar daddy in the industry.

Barnaby took his nephew to court for impersonating a math teacher. The evidence was circumstantial due to Jethro's explanation of Pi R squared. Barnaby stated Pi are round - Cornbread is square.

2:20:53: No safety belt! Though cars sold in the U.S. had to have safety belts beginning in 1968, most older models didn’t have them. Some people would even cut them out, feeling aggrieved that the government was trying to force something on them they didn’t want. As late as 1984, only 14% of Americans wore safety belts. Today the rate is slightly over 90%, though still less than other developed countries whose rates are nearly 100%. And the statistics bear it out. As seat belt use increased and air bags were added the rate of highway deaths as a percentage of the population went down, but nowhere as steeply as they have in countries with nearly universal seat belt use.

0:35: I’ve always love seeing Nancy Olson in anything. (She reminds me A LOT of a young Barbara Bel Geddes.) She had a great screen presence. Her first film role was as a very minor charm in David O. Selznick’s _Portrait of Jennie_ (1948), but one of her first big roles won her an Oscar as best supporting actress in _Sunset Boulevard_ (1950) with William Holden and Gloria Swanson. She retired about 35 years later in the 1980s. As of November 2024 she’s still living and is now 96. I hope that she’s enjoying good health.
