Albarn is amazing, but he certainly didn't change music forever and definitely not twice. I suspect if he saw this video and the title I doubt he'd agree. No artist has ever changed music forever, artists can sometimes steer music in a direction. Sometimes it's a seismic leap in a completely different direction, but more often than not, it's gentle nudges over time. Influences, copying, borrowing, being inspired by, collaborating - over decades and decades, perhaps even hundreds of years really. Albarn is very gifted and has shown an ability to collaborate which is just damn amazing - he can draw in musician's from all styles and work effectively with them, fusing different genres together and perhaps that comes out with new ones - I guess that's up to the music press to name. Changed it forever? Don't be silly. Click bait is gonna bait clicks.

To me "The Universal" is the top Blur song. It is really amazing and it changed my view on music as a 11 year old boy.

Morrissey says what he thinks and doesn't care what anybody thinks about it. That is the encapsulation of PUNK.

I have to say, I'm an old punk rocker so their initial sound, post punk, appealed to me but People change and try new things, bands evolve or die, it's a thin line with some bands, some get better, some get worse, they have definitely progressed and I like it. I have liked them for quite a while and I think the new album is great, recently saw them live, which they absolutely killed! They were so good live that it was mind blowing.

7:17 - It was the 70s. This is taken entirely out of context. You can't compare eras of the past to today using today's societal structure and judgement. Things that were normal back then weren't automatically wrong or a problem, just because it would be so today.

5:03 - This is a truly terrible take. Argentina was under a military junta at the time in 1982, and they started the war by attacking and taking over British bases on the Falkland Islands. The British did *not* start this war, they mere finished it by pushing back the Argentine forces and retaking their bases. Merely two seconds later you show a picture of Russian Tsar Nikolai II and his Romanov family. What the hell are you doing?

Its funny that you say that not everyone had to be the Beatles, as if the Beatles werent a bunch of rough lads from a working class area that started performing in leather jackets, and continued to break from standards of music that were popular as they kept making music. Sounds pretty punk to me.

To tell what is punk and not is always a dead end. Everything after 2000out of the USA was somehow poppunk too. I think better every Generation has punk than not.

The 'Evidently Chickentown' ending in the episode 'Stage 5' is one of my favourite scenes in the whole show. The looks on both Chris and Tony's faces at the christening, paired with Phil saying "no more of this" and knowing that Johnny Sack is totally out of the picture with the New York crew really makes you feel uneasy. It's like you know everything is about to change for Tony and his crew and not for the better. The unusual music going with the scene gives the whole sequence a very sinister and unnerving vibe to it. It's perfect.

The album 75 by Neu heavily influenced Bowie, to the point Bowie phoned up the lead singer for advice before starting work on "The idiot", you should do a dive into proto punk as a lot of what you are talking about falls into that category. Magazine's shot by both sides is regarded as the first post punk song.

It's more than clear that Morrissey is an arrogant and prejudiced idiot, although on the Joy Division issue, in the interview in which he and George Michael are interviewed it is mentioned that Joy Division were also fascist, or at least, they were accused of being. Although, as far as I know...they denied that they were.

15 to 20 years later? I think not. 5 maybe, 8, max. Anyway - Lust For Life is superb. I was addicted to it when it came out, even though The Passenger was almost played to death everywhere for ages. I didn't even get sick of that. But the whole album is ageless. I'll put the vinyl on after this comment. Thanks for the doc.
