This is fantastic, I'm really interested in making my own pedal powered plane, or glider I guess, couldn't you put a bicycle cassette on it and use the gears for better speed? It seems like the theory is there and proven and with some more engineering everyone can take flight with minimal effort..

@@Jon-uj2uw That is correct. The aircraft has no brakes and cannot stop, so many people must run alongside to stop it. Also, when launching, human power is added to the aircraft's propulsion to increase its speed.

Hey, i have some mechanical ideas to make a commercial ultralight trike The trike will contain a gear box and a propeller powered by pedals, and will work with any commercial hang glider I've done a lot of the math but could use a little more help

Hey I'm really interested in making my own pedal powered plane, glider, whatever it should be called, all these videos it's a single speed drivetrain, at least it seems that way, I'm wondering why they don't just engineer gears for it to spin the prop faster, once you got up to speed I bet it would be easy to maintain since there isn't friction from the road like on a normal road bike
