Thank you for this. I attended CHS in the 70s, when the school was integrated. It was a formative period of my development. I have only recently realized how little I knew about CHS and its history. I had no idea that Ruby Sales attended CHS and also had no idea that portraits of George Washington Carver had been removed in '71, when the school was first integrated. Shameful. We would have all benefited from learning of the school's history and it's rich legacy for the community.

I'm a bit surprised to see nothing on some of the most important contributions CHS made to the local and larger community. Where's Ruby in this? Where's the award-winning programs (e.g., CHS Band)?
