FYI, Congress passed a new law, that explicitly state that the VPs role in the certification is completely ministerial in nature and cannot object, or disqualify any electoral votes. It also raises the number of required House and Senate members to object from 1 from each house to 1/5 the total number of each house(20 for senate, 87 for House). So specifically trying to avoid any repeat of these shenanigans.
