what can i do with " Activity Failed: command exited abnormally with code 1 Error: Cannot read file:"R: ~Custompath~ " , i only have my secondary laptop as a worker, same Blender version. in past tests i could render a job, today i tried to only render with 1 machine.

Hi -- If you're rendering with one machine are you running both the manager and server on that or is the server still running on your main machine but not rendering? Is your R: network drive still mapped when you go to it in your explorer to the "R:" path? I'm assuming you're Windows? I guess since it says that it can't read the file on the R: drive I'm not sure what would cause the path to now be incorrect, sounds like you did everything right! You probably know this but on Macs the paths to files go forward slash "/" but on PCs they go "\". Sorry I can't think of anything else except to save it to a new path.

I'm thinking to install this and watch this video, but can You (please) answer in these first. Thanks for the video! * Can I use two PC (Win11) connected with LAN equipped with different GPU's? (4090 / 24GB and other 4070 / 16GB.) * If project needs over 16GB (very often 20-24GB) of VRAM, would it use only PC with 4090? * How installed addons, would there come a problems when rendering with two PC's? (In SheepIt-farm rendering there was no textures in some addon-objects. I have also tried to open same project via LAN, but it is different in other Blender where is no this same addons installed...)

Thanks for watching! You definitely can use PCs with different CPUs, I have a few on my LAN with some old nVidia cards that Blender no longer supports so it falls back to rendering with CPU. It still saves A LOT of render time though! You do need to make sure all machines have the same versions of Blender and Flamenco running.

Also I can't imagine with a 4090 you'd have much need for a render farm, that's a beast!

@@nextdayvideos I think that there is something wrong in my (4K) Blender-projects, because it very often takes so long to render even with 4090 (max samples often 300). And VRAM is out often, also. 🥸🧐🤯

Hey! Thanks for making this video :) 6:10 the IP address of the machine is not under control of Flamenco. If the IP address of your Flamenco Manager computer changes, check your router / DHCP server settings. At home I use a Fritz!Box, and it has a checkbox to always assign the same IP to my desktop PC.
