I picked one of these es-210 blowers up off of a trash pile in my neighborhood around 10yrs ago. Put fresh gas, started and ran perfectly second pull. I just now had to overhaul the carb and fuel lines and it runs great again. It still has excellent compression I cannot believe how durable these older echo engines are.

Just a hint wipe off the zerk fittings before you grease them , if you don't the dirt that gets on these fittings will be pushed in to the joints when you grease them with the grease gun .

I know this is an old post but maybe this will help someone. My 2001 ZD21 has all of those fittings and more . Front deck strut arms has one on both sides at the mowers frame and the transmission control levers have one on each side in the shaft they are mounted on (under the seat) my mower is old so these fittings may not be on the newer machines. It's worth a look.

Can you tell me what prop size and pitch you use with the 150 on the cvx16?
@Stromzilla6 ай бұрын
Raker 14.5”x24” and also I have a 26” too. I like both for how I drive the boat. If you were pulling tubes skiers, a 20”/21” would be more appropriate.
@kevindoherty98867 ай бұрын
That’s nuts. I had a CVX 16. They’re rated for a 90hp max. I had a 120 on mine and !it would fly. That engine puts it in another league
@Stromzilla6 ай бұрын
Our 1979 CVX16 is rated to 125hp. 150 in the wrong hands could be lethal. Didn’t set this up for speed but rather for the acceleration. It’s a lotta fun.

The front anti-scalp wheels snap ring pin kept falling out on mine so I replaced them with bolts and double nutted them. Never had one fall off again. The center anti- scalp double wheels will get gummed up and stick to the bolt, causing the bolt to spin in the hole and wear the bolt and hole out. I welded some rod to the head of the bolt. This rod goes rearward and bends 90 degrees which then goes through a hole in the mount. No more spinning bolt to wear out.
@Stromzilla6 ай бұрын
Yep…good idea and something I’ve considered and will eventually do

23 psi in the front tires, 17 psi in the rear tires helps make the cuts better. The deck height adjuster by your right hand can over time and vibration settle lower so the grass is cutting lower than you want. I drilled a hole in the adjuster gear and frame, dropped a pin in the hole so the adjuster cannot move.
@norm-nas8 ай бұрын
When you crank up the front end the jack screw threads need to be lubed. Knock off the plastic cover, it's not needed. Oil the threads when the front is cranked all the way up. It makes it easier to crank by quite a bit.

Recently blew the gearbox on by zd331. While looking at the parts computer at the dealer I noticed that a dipstick retrofit kit is available for the gearbox. Gearbox is $1550.
@Stromzilla6 ай бұрын
I’m sorry to hear that. My approach with the gearbox on our zd326 is to change out the gear oil on a 2 year cycle. My concern has always been with the box having a low oil capacity and condensation collecting internally. This approach has served me well. Gear oil is cheap compared to a gearbox replacement.

Thank you for the comments. It’s been an awesome boat. The 150 is overkill but in good hands that will avoid stupid, it’s a riot. Acceleration is stunning even with the 24” and 26” prop I typically run with.

I've got ZD326 Kubota and it's been leaving a mess in the center. The last time I was on it the little candle lit (most people have a bulb) and I thought... did I put the center blade on wrong? I'll check blades this afternoon. I searched KZbin college and found this channel. I'll be back. <edit? The blades are just very dull

I bought a 79 CVX16 with a 100hp Merc. Running good. For $1700 about 11 yrs ago. It needed new gel coat or compound buffing and minimal interior work. I Just used it for a couple summers pulling my kids knee boarding. Ive owned probably 15 boats in my life and the Glastron Carlson was the best handling funnest and CHEAPEST boat ive ever owned and i wish every summer I still had it

I put my blades on upside down and all summer, i took them off to sharpen for this summer and i looked hard and realized they are upside down, they did cut fine but now they cut beautiful, i couldn’t believe i done that either, i guess im getting old or something😂 the zd326 is the best mower, hands down.

What a crazy and hard way to do it. That bolt on the top is the fill hole. All you had to do was remove it with a 15mm or 17mm wrench to extract the gear oil and re-fill it.
