Speaker relay or capacitor or both needs checking. Pots and knobs need cleaning. I have this same problem with popping and fading in and out on my Marantz 2226 B. It will be going to a shop to be repaired. Its to valuable to me not to have it repaired.

I was recorded by a POTA activator and didn't know at the time. I commented favorably on one of his subsequent videos and I mentioned he was in my logs. He then replied to me and got me to check one of his previous videos at a specific time stamp. I had to chuckled to myself and thought it was cool.

Yes. When im portable i record. And sometimes i use the video to pull out a call sign. Its not always easy to log portable but as long as you record the qso you can figure it out later.

Realistic had some sort of arrangement with a few companies. They would simply rebadge the product like Teac, Akai, pioneer, technics etc. then they would sell at incredibly lower prices for exactly the same gear not even seconds.

I scored a Marantz SD 432 for $8. Deck one doesn’t play and deck two has a click but other wise works well. You can’t hear the click if the music is loud enough. I’m hoping to find someone that’s able to repair it but for now I’m happy with my $8 purchase.

Nice find for $130. We all wanted one like that back in the 70s. Cleaned up it would be fun to have as a backup unit or for an office setup. I'm envious!

I had so many of the Realistic stereos through the years and they do great my first one was the sta-77 and it was only 18 watts per channel but it cranked big time and after couple of years i got the 100 watt per channel one and had it for a long time. Totally enjoyed it. Have a good one!

Foster or Fostex built for radio shack most of the time. Edit I've seen that almost all the thrift chains have regular thieves who pull off knobs or turntable heads .. then most of the stores i know of will recycle bin the items. They tell me they pretty much know what guys do this and they refuse to put the price to $2 so the thief gets it for nothing. They junk the items most of the time.
@hamradiohack2 күн бұрын
The latest idiot removes the technics tiny logos. Ones that wouldn't be desired even. They used to remove the knobs here a hold them in back. That worked well.
@RetroCaptainКүн бұрын
@hamradiohack I told the staff they need to do this (keep knobs and turntable heads at cash). They keep forgetting - the thefts continue. Yes I saw a couple technics and Sony badges missing but don't think it stopped anyone from buying. Knobs yes that renders the item junk

want to ask you a question - how are you running your panadapter on your ftdx 3000? are you using a dongle from the IF port or the RF port or from the mu tuner port? I've been told to run my dongle from the IF or the RF port so I don't blow the front end out of the SDR when I transmit ( it supposed to isolate those ports on transmit.) I havent much luck because my dumb computer is running windoze 11 and it wants to align the COM ports with audio out even the CAT gets fouled up with backfeed audio... so , most of the folks running a panadapter are using SDR Play units and they are so expensive... just wondering .... thanks and by the way I avoid anything around 7.200 too many lids...
@hamradiohack3 күн бұрын
Im also using a sdr play. Im using the rx rca as its much wider than the IF or the utune trick. It sill goes through the radios font end. So if radio is on 10m and you tune sdr uno to 80m it will suck. Im using omni rig to control the 3000 with sdr uno under the "ORIG" tab
@l.a.26463 күн бұрын
@hamradiohack thanks a bunch for the info! I think I'm going to get an SDR Play because the RTL-SDR that I have , seems too fiddly. And like I said windows adds a whole COM port problem. ( it feeds audio from my computer to the dongle. ) my wife and kids got me a FT-710 early fall because my 29 year old was tired of me fighting with these dongles/computer LOL. So he said to mama let's get dad a direct sampling SDR so I don't have to hear him complaining. I really like the rig but my FTDX-3000 is my favorite. Seems like the SDR Play just gets along so much better. Again thanks for answering and sorry for going off topic.
