@kvanderveen5 ай бұрын
That's well beyond the scope of AP Chemistry! There are a lot of great resources available though--check out kzbin.info/www/bejne/eaXMfJ6Ap6dgl8ksi=eu33XXCVjVjr66Xm

Would it be ok if I used pascals as the unit of pressure for the last part?
@kvanderveen5 ай бұрын
Yes, that would be OK. Just make sure that your setup has an R value in the same units, and that your answer and units correspond properly!

hello! do you know if for letter g our answers needs to have the words arrangement in there, or would it be alright just to describe the particles turning from closer and more organized to disorganized as ions in the water?
@kvanderveen Жыл бұрын
An optimal response would talk about microstates: more possible microstates vs fewer possible microstates. The CB has made it clear that they expect more students to avoid discussing order vs. disorder with regards to entropy

Thank you very much. I have not taught this is YEARS!!! I'm teaching it again this year for the first time in FOREVER!!! I knew there was a nice easy way to convert each one and I couldn't find a good conversion chart/table anywhere. This video is perfect and makes it easy for students to understand.

@ibrahimnaza5646 Жыл бұрын
I really love the lesson but my question is, why do we always have to divide 1 by their respective coefficients in writing an expression in terms of both reactants and products
@kvanderveen Жыл бұрын
The convention is that we want to have the same overall reaction rate regardless of the substance being monitored, so we adjust the rate to what it would be for a material with a coefficient of 1 in the balanced equation

Hi! At 4:59, why is the fraction of collisions higher for the line at a lower temperature? Could you explain what that means? Thank you!
@kvanderveen3 жыл бұрын
These curves show the distribution of molecules at different temperatures. At the lower temperature, there is less area under the curve beyond the activation energy minimum, compared to the area under the curve at the higher temperature! Since fewer molecules meet the activation energy minimum at the lower temperature, the rate is slower. Also, since the temperature is lower, the particles have a lower average kinetic energy and therefore they collide with each other less frequently.

Hi! Thank you for this video. At 8:15, why is it necessary to know the mass of the water?
@kvanderveen3 жыл бұрын
You are dissolving the urea in the water to find the enthalpy change in the water. You measure the temperature change in the solution. In order to find the heat change (q), you need the total mass of the mixture, which is the mass of the water + the mass of the urea.

This is really informative! I've been trying to research for a KZbin vid that really informs the topics in this KZbin video! 👍 👍Your explanation is similar to the videos of this awesome health enthusiast Doctor Ethan. His demonstrations are knowledgable and I really learned a lot for my diet! He is a cool medical student! Go watch his YT out and give the Doctor a like! ➡️ #StudentDoctorEthan

You are a great teacher! I am watching your podcast regularly as I am planning to take the teacher certification exam. Could you please help me with ph problems without using the calculator? Anything you can do. Please make a podcast on guessing the ph. Also a podcast on Ka, Kb and Kw etc.
@kvanderveen3 жыл бұрын
To estimate pH problems without a calculator...look at the exponent! If [H⁺] = 1 x 10⁻⁵, the pH will be 5. If [H⁺] = 1 x 10⁻⁹, the pH will be 9. If the coefficient isn't 1, then the exponent makes it possible to estimate the pH. Good luck on your certification exams!
