Dimitrova is an icon!! Music-score precision, consistent steady vibrato throughout the entire range, no vocal tension, a naturally grand, voluminous and robust voice, noble reserved mimics and facial expression, wise exploitation of dramatic-action tools! One can definitely consider Ghena a perfect model or example to follow and learn from! Brava Prima Donna!

Certo che per i tenori cantare a fianco di lei dovevano avere un grande coraggio. C'era il pericolo di essere surclassati. In certe opere è stata la migliore di sempre compresa la Callas.

Une chanteuse PHENOMENALE qui alliait une puissance incroyable et une souplesse étonnante pour une voix d'un tel poids. J'ai un souvenir inoubliable d'un Macbeth à Avignon où elle alternait cette puissance et cette densité vocale à une scène finale où elle concluait,avec un contre-ré filé alla Caballé! Grand souvenir d'elle aussi dans les deux rôles d'Aida, Aida et Amneris.

J'ai eu le bonheur de séjourner en Bulgarie dans une famille amie avec Ghena Dimitrova. Le papa, capitaine des pompiers, avait plaisir, sur son temps libre, à jouer les figurants à l'opéra de Varna. Il me racontait qu'en scène, quand elle passait près d'eux en chantant, le son était tellement énorme qu'ils avaient tous le corps qui se mettait à trembler !

Eastern Europeans from the communist era rarely smile. It was pretty grim. I knew some Hungarians who went back after living here for years and people kept saying, why are you always smiling?????????? It was a different culture.

Да се усмихва? Давате ли си сметка, за какво пее? Освен това наскоро е изгубила мъжът си в автомобилна катастрофа. Ако Ви липсват усмивки, можете да си пуснете друга, по-усмихната певица. Току що чухте най-великото изпълнение на тази ария за всички времена, от певица получила наградата "Пучини". Гена Димитрова е най-великото драматично сопрано раждано и пяло някога, а на Вас ви липсва усмивка? Що за коментар...
