I know this vid is 2+ years old but thanks for this unboxing. I just picked this kit up on a whim from #hobbynutmodels and am looking forward to building it. I'm going to get the LHD dash from #icemancollections. I may try to pick up a spare tire too!

My next build after christine . Ahh plan to build a pro stock piece of this adding alot of parts from the 1967 chevelle model parts car pro stock kit. Should be a nice one to go with my vette collection. Be alot of work on this one to be a pro stock but ahhh nothing easy!😊

not bad but you can do better. improve the editing, remove the repeated parts, slow down on the pan.

Does the turrent turn? Or does it turn with the tank?

The turrent turns independently of the tank. The turrent has its own controls on the remote. The cannon also elevates

I installed an Atomic Racing brushed motor, cant remember the exact specs, but wow what a speed demon it turned the Tamtech into. I bought a few a good few years back, good thing cant find them anywhere now. Stock and even upgraded motor a rubbish, tsk tsk on Tamiya!

The red-stripe tires were Uniroyal Tiger Paws. Pontiac offered them with the GTO package starting in '64 and they became really popular. They were still popular and very mainstream by 1970 and the raised white letter tires would have been the latest, trickest tire by then.

Hi, how's it going, I'm in to the rc cars as well, although I'm may not be as good as you, I love the stuff. Could you please tell me what kind of tool your using to cut wheel wells, what it's called, or where I could pick it up, or put the link in one of your videos again, thanks so much: Zeke

You can get more articulation with cantilever suspension than from regular if you use right setup. For instace look for RGT Crusher 1/10 RC Crawler. It's all about the lenght ratios on that articulating lever and spring ratio. So, if you move the bolt mount on shock side, one or even two holes, closer to the articulatim point you will get more wheel travel with the same shock travel. Consequently you'll need stronger spring for the same behavior like before.

It's been a while since I installed the brushless motor. It was a cheap, no-name Chinese one I bought on ebay or Amazon. The motor wasn't a perfect fit. I had to cut off a bit of the shaft because it was too long. The dimension of the motor should be 40mm (L) x30mm (diameter). Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

To be fair it is an almost 50 year old die as it is a re-pop of the original kit I believe. I can work around it’s shortcomings as it is dimensionally accurate for the most part. I’m grateful it is available
@skyviewproductions1145
@skyviewproductions1145 Жыл бұрын
I agree for the most part, but I think AMT could/should re-engineer this kit to modern standards. They're one of the biggest model companies in the US, so they have the ability to do so. There's a huge demand for this Corvette in kit form, so AMT is just milking their customers.

I washed the body with warm soap and water. I think the issue is that Krylon paint doesn't flex the same way as paint specifically designed for lexan bodies. Thus, there will be chipping and flaking when you run the bodies hard.

A good tip for painting the body is first was it in Dawn dish washing liquid and after it is dry to lightly sand the body with 800 - 1000 grit sandpaper. This will provide tooth for the paint to stick to the body.

The designers should have used shielded cabling, much like what is used for RS-232 wiring. Another solution is to wrap the cables or flat ribbon cables in copper foil with a glue backing. Then, cover the foil for electrical isolation in electrical or Kapton tape. For best suppression, solder a wire to the copper foil before the isolation wrap and solder that wire to the nearest ground terminal. In a proper design you would ground with 2 wires at both mother/daughter boards.
