Your video covers pretty much everything I noticed or realized as I saw various events come out in the open over the past 2-3 years. I've come to view the Vtuber, or even just content creation in general, as a solo improv performance, but where you also play your own tech support, editor, producer, marketing strategist, etc. Until you can afford to hire a manager or other staff, you're doing it all yourself. It's almost no different than a starving actor. Most of the work is done behind the scenes, and you definitely need a clear vision.

I just ran into this after formatting my PC! Thankfully the fix is an easy one. Right click on the new OBS icon you made for recording, go into the "Compatibility" tab, and near the bottom check "Run this program as an administrator" and hit OK to save the change. Then try to run it again and it should work! Let me know if this fixed it for you! ❤️💙💛💚🦊🥷

This is absolutely fantastic, but it sadly breaks a LOT of plugins, notably Aitum's Vertical plugin, which cannot function with Custom FFmpeg. Still, EXTREMELY useful, it's so much cleaner and easier to deal with as an editor than trying to chroma key
@pandoramonium
@pandoramonium Ай бұрын
I'm glad it's helpful @ODISeth! I wasn't aware of a conflict with Aitum's Vertical plugin, I don't use it personally. It's easy enough with this record method to just have a separate install (portable perhaps) of OBS to use without any plugins (except Spout2 for vtubers ofc) and record horizontally, and in editing it's easy to place it on a vertical canvas because you have lots more control there anyway.
@ODISeth
@ODISeth Ай бұрын
@@pandoramonium absolutely fair! I’ve been using Aitum’s vertical so far simply because up until now it was a method with which I can record my avatar (or facecam when it’s one of those videos) separately at full resolution, just on a bluescreen instead. Main benefit of Aitum’s plugin is it would start recording on the exact same frame as when you started recording or streaming on main OBS. I’m curious with the two-OBS method you’ve got, is there a way to automatically sync them up so they BOTH start recording at the same time, or do you just manually start each recording and sync them up in the editing room?
@pandoramonium
@pandoramonium Ай бұрын
My best guess is if you had two OBS running, and set the same hot key to start recording in both, that will either conflict, or be in sync. Otherwise it'd be super close if you hit both buttons fast, you'd just have to say something like a test phrase at the start and use that to sync the rest up and just trim that out. Let me know how it all works out and if that suggestion works or not! Good luck!
@ODISeth
@ODISeth Ай бұрын
@@pandoramonium I did some testing and asked the OBS discord, and there’s no conflict with running and recording on 2 instances of OBS! To ensure timing aligns I could either use the plugin “Advanced Scene Switcher” which allows you to set up macros and say that one should start recording when the other one starts, OR if an just use the default hotkeys function to set both to have the same “start recording” hotkey. Both work fine!

Another method to not have to sync both videos is actually double your canvas width like an ultrawide screen. Then put models on the empty side and game or whatever on the other. I also use the Aitum plug-in to record my whole model which I can then overlay in Davinci.

After listening several KZbin videos (from other KZbin channels) describing how Dark some of the big VTuber Corporations are, I started to understand why some of the most popular VTubers have mental health issue after they have got into the VTubing industry after 2-4 years. Some need personal counseling, and some may need to see psychologist as things get worse. A lot of viewers who watch Vtubers' videos thought everything is so sunshine and beautiful, because they only see & hear the cute voice or reaction the VTubers are showing when they are "working" (ie. during streaming, or live shows, etc). But in truth, behind the screen, those same "VTubers" are struggling mentally (and worse, financially as well). I never knew how bad this whole situation is until I started researching about it 2-3 days ago. Now that those Big VTuber Corporations are spreading their business to SO MANY different countries, this is getting worse. But newcomers DON'T know this! I hope the best for all the VTubers are currently in this situation and all those who just got out of this situation.

Hi @CutieKala! Thanks for the comment! ❤️💙💛💚🦊🥷🏻 Black/Toxic Companies take advantage of those who are chasing their dreams, especially those who are younger. They have lots of passion for what they want to do, and aren't as beaten down and skeptical as we get as we get older. Viewers, as you called out, only see the performance of the VTuber, not the life of the person behind them. It takes a lot of time and energy to make consistent content. Even streaming takes work and energy because you're not just playing a game to relax, you're simultaneously working to be entertaining, worrying about numbers, donations, marketing, etc. And because so much energy is being tossed at your passion, other things in life must be sacrificed as a result. So it's not unheard of to lose contact with family or friends, neglect yourself both physically and mentally, because there are deadlines to meet. And if you stop for even a moment, you fear becoming irrelevant and forgotten. Which is why even taking time off is difficult. When you do, people may start to watch someone else and not return once you do. Overall a lot of bad things can happen to anyone who follows a passion into a bad company, where those running it either aren't experienced and don't see the toll things are taking, or worse yet, a company that purposefully takes steps to exploit their talents through any means necessary. And with wave after wave of generations, you are in fact replaceable to them.

The usually there's impartial HR thing is kinda still gaslighting yourself and those you're discussing it with to some degree, there's frankly no such thing. HR is employed by the company, for the company. They are NEVER impartial, the best you can hope for is to have them realize that not helping you would be illegal or a huge scandal but if they think they can get away with it they will always side with the bullies

HR is driven by laws and protecting the company yes, but things that happen in black companies wouldn't be allowed in good ones. I've worked closely with HR after this company and they are an amazing resource to have. They provide guidance to both employee and manager for how to navigate difficult situations. But like anything, there can be good and bad.

I always suggest 2 things at the moment of apply for a company: 1- READ THE ENTIRE CONTRACT (they can't deny you that) 2- had a someone from legal consultation who can give you a 2nd thought about it. Also there is some vids people are doing to prevent and see red flags, just like yours telling your experience is very informative in lights of recent events. Not all the companies are for their people sadly. If they can't provide you the tools for work, then they are basically a pyramid scheme.
@pandoramonium
@pandoramonium 6 ай бұрын
Hello @SenseiRaisen! They pressure you because they know you want the job, and if you have a short time to make your decision you'll say yes and not read anything, or hire a lawyer to make sure you're safe. They can deny you though, because say they give you 3 hours to sign. After that they can deny you entry, because if you're someone who'll want a lawyer involved, clearly you won't "fit in" with their vision of an employee. And you are right, if a company isn't setting you up for success, they're a bad company who believes you are infinitely replaceable. Their mindset is probably with such low of an investment on their part, if you don't work out, the next sucker will. It's a symbiotic relationship between employee and company in these situations. The better the employee does, the better you do. Why wouldn't you want to set people up with good equipment, in depth training, a support system to help them overcome anything in their way? It absolutely baffles me why you'd do it any other way. They have a warped, and honestly very dated outlook on how a company succeeds in the world that's straight out of the 1950s.

Hope you are doing well. It is an unfortunate reality that if you are hard working and talented, there are those who will prey on your motivation and work ethic. Just remember to take care of yourself first, companies very rarely care about you at all. This notion oftern prepatuated by certain rich people that the only reason they made it is because they worked so hard, never slept and where so motivated is often a lie meant to keep you working and the reason you aren't rich is because you don't work enough. I genuenly hope your experiences have not deterred you from being ambitious and trying again. There are a lot of employers who will recognize your contributions and compensate you accordingly. And 'joining SlitheringPeanut-sensei in being wary of peeps with power...! Moi just feels that... so-called black companies are manifestations of the worst that could happen in a capitalist system where power, economic power and decision-making power, is only in the hands of the owner of the business... Even perhaps in the "white company" or that better job you're in right now? 'am assuming that it's still a company or org that has a hierarchical, top-down structure where the workers are just told to do what is needed by the higher-ups or most decisions are on the owners of the company... White companies and black companies, to moi, are both manifestations of the root problem of the capitalist system. How to take that power back? How to make sure that there's democracy, mutual aid, and care in any organization? Well, workers coming together to resist and find for their rights and what's right is key! Maybe organizing some kind of labor union, workers union or association, could be a step towards making any workplace more worker-friendly... Power put in the hands of a few is not to be trusted... fighting for workers rights together with peeps you trust... that to me sounds like a way out of the system! It's hard, and moi's not saying it isn't... but moi believes in the power of people to come together in solidarity and love and common ground...
