How much better will the xg35 be in foggy conditions? and after a day of raining in fall. And is it much sharper when looking in it? thinking of changing my talion xq38.
@jonrunargudjons
@jonrunargudjons 11 ай бұрын
Thank you, that are some good questions. The XG35 is better with its 640 chip and it looks better in the scope itself. Identifying out on longer ranges is much easier. Though I do not send bullets out to more than about 100m in darkness. The XQ38 and XG35 have similar mK, sub 40. But the XQ38 has 17 sensor vs 12 in the XG, giving the XQ more to work with in hard conditions, like fog and rain. For the harder conditions the XQ35 pro has sub 25mk, and 17µm, which makes it even better to see thermal signal at a low contrast conditions. To sum it, I would look at the XQ35 pro for harder conditions and the XG35 for the little longer range

Very well said! I own both now and owned the xq38 talion previously and it suffers in high humidity. To be honest if your not shooting past 150 yards the xq35 pro 100%, I have not had any subpar conditions yet with either scope to compare but I would say the xg will show some weakness in high humidity conditions. I make shots with xg35 250-300 often with zero issues. Hopefully will start posting videos here soon.

PLEASE, give your opinion ... Pulsar Axion XM30F or HIKMICRO Lynx pro 15 ?!😪😭😱
@jonrunargudjons
@jonrunargudjons 11 ай бұрын
Hmmm well, XM30F, is an absolute great unit. One of my favorites. Small and great signal, fast to change batteries. I havent playd around with the Lynx pro 15 out in nature, but though I tend to prefer Pulsar products. So I cant really give an honest opinion, since I havent tried them side by side. The XM30f does everything I need for a normal hunt on wildboar feeder and just to see if there is life on shorter ranges. If I am working in tougher conditions I would go for something with a stronger chip. But the XM is good for 80% of my hunting

can you spot wild owls with XM30F ? Like barreds owls or such?
@jonrunargudjons
@jonrunargudjons 11 ай бұрын
Yes, owl have a very strong signal around their huge eyes. But to identify if its one or the other owl on plus 40-50 meter I cant say. I spot owls sometimes in the darkness, but usually on shorter distances like 15-25 meters, when they are sitting in a tree on their night hunts. But they are fast and quet, so I havent filmed any of them🤷

And what is the purpose of this comparison? To compare both devices, set them to the same parameters and then it is possible to detect differences. ;-)
@jonrunargudjons
@jonrunargudjons Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. These are wild animals filmed at the same location at different times. When the opportunity arises I film them. Setting the devices into the same settings would be optimal for comparison, but that is theory. Real world testing is something else and I am not always just testing, in those films I am hunting for wildboar, but came across these animals. The purpose of this video is to show how wild animals look in those 2 different thermals in similar vegetation. As you can see the XP and XQ are very different chips, with difference in detail. Though one is set to white hot and the other to black hot

Sure do, ;) had a pulsar thermal scanner for 6years, So know all the tricks dear friend, eg views behind a headge etc, ;) Cost on the thermal don't cover its cost, as you be scanning on a thermal unit too. So a 3k thermal units not needed I think. Cost on a fox etc, I from old farming family setup, so tight as well. Lol.

That ir on the c50 about as good as, 1 for a rat hunt, Was it a 940 model on full spread, You never get a comparison If not using real ir units, Got a old pulsar thermal scanner(6years old) and a C50, Video to app never shows the brightness of your view you see out in action. Will say thermal very good, ;) Just know the c50 gives better view it's showing there, Al
@jonrunargudjons

The IR is the Pulsar own 850 model. That light can not be controlled that much. The best aftermarked IR I have tested with the C50 is the Lasarluchs 850ii. In that model you can modify the light more. This video is to demonstrate the difference in the two technologies. One of the toughest task for a digital night vision device is to show behind trees/vegetation, in which thermal has no problems in that task.

I havent really worked that much with the zoom on the Helion. But it feels like with the Axion new firmware there is more software enhancments that give a smoother zoom. A good question to make test on 👍

Hi, I notice that you have the smoothing filter deactivated. Is that premeditated?
@jonrunargudjons
@jonrunargudjons 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I usually tjeck my surroundings and how the thermal spotter is working that day in that environment. To get the sharpest image, the most detail and best "as the chip is" image, I turn off all software intensifiers/modifiers. So "normal", no smoothing is my standard setting to start with.

Xq35 seems worst than XM30F! How is xm30f at 100m? Can identify a wild boar without doubts?
@jonrunargudjons
@jonrunargudjons 2 жыл бұрын
No the XQ35 is not worse than the XM30F. There are different settings making the XQ35 look lighter and with loss of detail in this video. Its not worse. These files are the recorded files from the units. Looking through the monitor with your own eyes is a different experience. There is more detail in the XQ, there is wider field of view. They are different units. With the XM30F you can easily identify wildboar at 100m, specially when you learn how to read their movement and body type. With the XG you can identify sex as well (when there is possible to see the body). With the XQ you can easier identify than with the XM30F. It has more power to play with. Depending on your "mission" the XM30F is small in size, smaller field of view (scanning a field takes longer and you have bigger body movement). The XQ har wider field of view, stronger chip (though in this video its not showing that well) (if you focus on the perfection of the pixels instead of the contrast you see that they are more clear. The XG35 has a 640 chip which gives it alot of data to play with. It is not a XP50 unit like the Helion XP50 pro, but its the strongest Axion on the market.

@@jonrunargudjons thanks for your answer. Xg 35 is out of my Budget. So, im looking for something in 1000 euros range. Choosing xg 35 is easy, but choosing, for example, between xm30f, infiray E3W or hikmicro Linx 15mm or 19mm (this last one is more expensive). I maybe wrong but i am thinking that Xm30f with 3x base magnification will be better to identify a boar at 100m then 1x even if the other two have better specs. This is difficult because I can't test them in the field

@@franciscomagro7243 I realy like the XM30f, its my to goto thermal spotter, it has the same battery as my C50 and Thermion. Its so powerful compaired to price. The other brands are different. I cant really say how they compair. I had the XM30s before on few hunts it was also good, but the XM30F is better. When you start using thermals, you learn alot the first year or two, depending on how much you go out. I have been using thermals for about 5-6 years and I can not choose only one for all my types og hunting. But I often take the XM30f with me. Because it just gives me alot in a very very small package. I will within few days post an video from the XM30F that shows how good it is, so stay tuned😎

@@jonrunargudjons Great video, for me really shows the clarity of the different spotters. I've just bought an XM30F myself for animal tracking and watching, I don't hunt although I used to 30-40 years ago. I chose the XM30F as I wanted video recording inbuilt and although some of the HikMicro scopes offers similar specs I wasn't keen on their long bodies, similar to an water bottle size and also being made of ABS or some sort of plastic they don't look as Robust as the XM30F with its Magnesium body and with their small pocket size with an 7 hour battery that is easily replaceable and not built in like the Hik Micros then it was an easy choice to make.
