Silicone for glass smooth surfaces only both. Polyurethane for rough surfaces. Anything water based outside sucks. Clean the surface well or it’s worthless.

My plumber roughed in the water/drain and mounted the base in permanently…before I knew the instructions called for the two walls to be screwed into the base… I’m glad I found your video, it seemed crazy to screw into the base at the bottom of the walls… and now I’m not..!! Thank You Sir..!

That board will cause many nightmares, it really adds no structrural support that the brackets alone wouldn't but it does allow water to be trapped and to run inside the wall.
