1 year on, I am currently staying a 10 minute walk away from here in the notorious Nishinari area (that would be a great video .. empty obviously for your safety 😀). Being a non tourist, i didn’t want to stick around Shinsekai as is a bit full on. But this video shows it in all its glory, I really appreciate the dedication and effort you put in to this. The concept is great, am here looking for abandoned rusty buildings to photograph as they have character and stories to tell us. Your video will always reflect the character of this area more than a million selfies. Thank you.

What time were you there? Just curious if the lamps along the path are always on or only in the evening.

I don know what it is about Japan, but it always feels and seems so peaceful to me. It's the only country I get this feeling. It seems like people don't argue with each other or something. And those little kids walking to school by themselves,♥ so heartwarming. That alone makes my day. In this day and age I need Japan in my life to keep me from going insane, even if it's just through KZbin. I truly enjoyed this walk. Danke!

Very nice video. I was there some years ago. It’s in Arashiyama, which is easily reached by train from Kyoto. From the station you can take a taxi. Just ask your hotel clerk to write down the address in Japanese for the driver. Definitely worth the trouble.

Lovely Video. Is 3 hours enough to explore this area from Torokko Arashiyama Station, and then to walk back to Saga Arashiyama?
