What a wild accomplishment! Congratulations! I’m not sure AH had any playtesters that could honestly say the same. Enjoy your next few unpublicized plays!

Great questions Cal. I think you hit the nail on the head about playing this complete. It's rare to see a monster game completed by anyone, and this one can really stretch that idea. Excited to see you take a shot of some of the lighter games.
@2000spqr5 күн бұрын
Thanks for the kind words. I'll try to get to those "lighter" games soon.

you mean 0.9 = 1 tick mark
@2000spqr14 күн бұрын
0.9 = 9 tickmarks... however if the player has tickmarks on his record sheet then yes, you are correct.

Ive never been huge on it but the build is lookin good Cal. 👍 hope all is well for you buddy. I will try to catchup on chat again soon. Somebody asked me about a special video chat for Boyd and i replied but havent heard back on anything definite. Michael Scarola asked. He used to be in Boyd's model shop lives. He mentioned Armando and Heath Thompkins too.

I watched this vid and i must admit i was somewhat disgusted how the replica looked on vid... looks better in person. Last time I make a vid in very low light... next vid be in the daytime... lol I need help here! As for the special video chat .. all I can say is.. keep me advised. c.s.

So going through this kit (for the second time in a week) lots of soldering iron and wiring problems.... i don't remember any problems in 75, but the problem is the plastic seems to be disintegrating. I would say the best way is to use orange testors and a hot soldering iron if necessary to assemble. It now has become a mission to keep it together, as it practically fell apart upon final assembly lol. (As you said) the only tip i have is it's not a "snap together kit !!!! Use glue, and maybe youll have less problems! 😅 EDIT....SILICONE spay quited down the noise significantly. Not giving up lol

Hello matthew.... This is a military game that historically reflects the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863 between Generals Lee & Mead. This game by Avalon HIll Games came out in 1977 and failed.. the rules are too vague and hard to interpret. I have been trying to see if I can play this game from start to finish.
@bradhig5 ай бұрын
do you know what the difference is between the 1975,1977 ,and 1983 versions of the kit?
@2000spqr4 ай бұрын
I think the 83 kit has decals not stickers as for all years mentioned the only changes are the size of the box and the artwork/photos.

I'm not sure that running the motor with that cogwheel wobbling in the upper right hand corner is a good idea. I realize this was 5 years ago, but I would have removed the motor assembly to troubleshoot why that cogwheel is wobbly and reassemble it. Otherwise, by constantly running it could produce uneven wear on the shaft on either side of the cogwheel and reduce the lifespan of the motor and further possibly contribute to motor fatigue depending on how often you run the motor. Otherwise, nice job.

Very cool diorama! You need an Ape action figure standing by it, trying to shoot it down with a clip of bullets. Or some block and tackle mini ropes hanging from it.

Why did you paint the bottom black? That should be a dark red. They called the paint copperoyd.
@2000spqr6 ай бұрын
Wanted to give it a look... The boat was painted grey from what I understand and it was not painted green. i did not want it to look like a well armed olive... so busted down with a black bottom... but you are correct... the hull was red.

AMT re-tooled the motorized version , hence the single screw, and rudder. It was to simplify the option of motorizing your kit, which was popular in the 60’s and 70’s with many model manufacturers, Tamiya in particular.

You are correct. In the movie the missile was laying on the ground and when the bomb was activated it did its job without the need for it to fly into the stratosphere.
