Fantastic piece of art! I'm a lover of this kind of sword, in my opinion is more effective compared at the katana. The japanese sword got an enormous fame but I think that the Šaška is vastly undersimated. The russian one is lighter, faster than a katana, varios confrontations showed the superiority e😍😍😍ffectiveness in almost all sword fight situation!

I love the latest design! Is there any way you can incorporate temperature control of the starter using a Peltier device? That way it really is a set and come back when it's ready and at its optimum temperature. As far as mixing is concerned, You might try a blade design that is closer in concept to the mixing blade on a food processor, flat or very slightly angled (think aircraft propeller) and very near the bottom of the carafe. Turning at ~50 rpm for five minutes ought to do a great job of mixing in a relatively short time.

I'm certainly no engineer. I was thinking that possibly having intervals of the spade moving in a back and forth motion with an up and down sequence to help mix it more throughly. I know the speed can't be to fast, but this might help.

Your device would have to control for heat, humidity, and acidity. Great info here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnPLdIuiiNZpfZo&si=giYLB77uqqQ9eDsQ

Technically you don't need a lot of starter for your levain for a loaf of bread dough. Once the starter is mature it only takes 10g or so for propagation (research stiff starter). If this is about starting a brand new starter vs maintaining a mature starter, you'll end up with different user needs. Does this unit take discarding into account? There are some great sourdough gurus or experts on KZbin that could give you far better feedback than FB groups.

Okay so what were your temp and times? Smoke and 250 for about 2 hours, rotate and smoke for 4 hours, then wrap in foil for about an hour, then back in with sauce for about maybe 20 minutes? So total time is closer to if not more than 7 hours? Got it. Thank you😂

@taylorgeorge3042Ай бұрын
Will this also include functions for waking up a dormant starter that has been sitting in the fridge or will it be designed to continuously feed and maintain it for a few weeks? A smart app integration would be nice to notify when you need to replenish the flour and water reservoirs

May has missed this in any of the general comments of the project, but any chance this can also be used to create/manage a Gluten Free starter?

Love the idea of a less fiddly starter process. Still, I want the flexibility to use my sourdough discard to make pancakes when I doughn't want to make bread. They are awesome tasting!
@dannyboyNS752Ай бұрын
A seperate companion that manages dough rise would be a fantastic build that I am sure would have a ton of overlapping research. Overproofed or underproofed dough can ruin all that hardwork of creating a starter or a Levain). Maybe something along the lines of the first sourdpugh 'Doug' you alluded too, that monitors the rise in a bigger vessel and notifies your smartphone when it's ready to shape and send to the oven?

Please add functionality to automate from your phone and remotely please
@LauraHammond-dn4ngАй бұрын
What would you want to know or control from your phone?
@cmwatcds1Ай бұрын
@LauraHammond-dn4ng the functions, stage of completion, and override functions like add more flour, less flour, stuff like that that you could make modifications. People's geographic locations will impact the bread due to more moisture in the ai or elevation or types of water will creat different chemical reactions changing the results. There even could be later and option to have an ai learn those and help create profiles that the bakers could use or make changes to create breads that are from different regions. I'm an AI guy and a chemical engineer so probably getting to nerdy here.

I have a pellet smoker, a Weber Kettle, a small off set charcoal/wood smoker and a very large wood smoker capable of doing up to 16 Briskets at once that I use when we do a blow out in the Desert about twice a year. I'm sure your little smoker is great but it will be a very cold day in H*** before I would spend the amount of money they want for yours.

I live in Alaska, AND LOVE MY INDOOR SMOKER!!!!
@ronmarti1Ай бұрын
I just purchased this unit because I live at 9000 feet above sea level in Colorado and so smoking indoors in the winter obviously is very appealing. However, my first smoke was baby back ribs and my pellet hopper got wet and clogged so bad that I basically got zero smoke and a big clogged up mess! Not impressed!
@jeremydumoit4487Ай бұрын
My pellet hopper has never gotten wet,but sometimes I still get little to no smoke. You have to clean the inside pellet drop VERY thoroughly every time or you’ll get no smoke in my experience
@laurabeans915Ай бұрын
Any chance your pellets were older? Sometimes they can retain moisture.
@ronmarti1Ай бұрын
@@laurabeans915 they’re the ones that were included with the unit so I can only assume they were okay.

@ronmarti1Ай бұрын
@@chadnoty5086 thanks for that but in my case this was the first and so far, only use of my unit. The pellets seemed to have gotten soggy for some unknown reason. I had the smoke level set at 5 but after they got soggy, the auger just turned them into mush and that was the end of that.
