I've had frequent gnawing damage under the car where any under hood treatment doesn't get close to. Fuel tank gauge pump & evap system wiring, I think it's a woodchuck cus I've chased one and it ran up under the cars. The places damaged could be easily reached from standing on the ground under them. A mouse would have to be hanging from above to reach there. Once had a rubber transmission oil cooler hose chewed open. When I started the car all the trans fluid blew out on the driveway.

Hi, what if the car is a plug-in hybrid? Can the engine bay be washed with water?

I work for Stox as a lift driver and that basically how i do it. You "roll" it on you then use your legs to lift it.

Very important to remember to check the wheel hub with a dial gauge to see if there is a run out problem from bearings assembly which may be the true cause of the disc warping- I have a Toyota truck and this is a common issue.

All tires are heavy to me. Just had to lift tires for my mom took them out her car last week put them back In this morning because we had to order our own. Yeah they’re definitely not super heavy but the shape makes them feel much more heavy at least to me. Definitely bent over, used all these weird movements. Have had low muscle tone since birth and I gotta watch how I lift things I could never lift using my legs or whatever the correct way is to lift things but definitely not your back. It’s just like a push up to me unfortunately, something I’ll never understand. Also had to watch my stomach this morning I didn’t want to poke it in any way but I’ll remember this for next time 🙏🏻

For a much longer lasting result, place moth balls in a bag with holes or in netting and tie it under the hood away from moving or high heat areas. This last up to a year as the moth ball deteriorate. We have used this method for years with great results.

Warped rotors the easiest way to explain what's causing issues, rotors don't warp

Great Video. Informative and to the point. I had to load 4x tires on rims into the back of my SUV. I am a 67 year old woman and physically fit. This was super easy to do and only took a few minutes to load all the tires. Thank you.

I liberally sprayed a strong mixture of water & peppermint oil under the hood of my 2017 KIA. I also drilled holes in several old plastic medicine bottles and put peppermint soaked foam in them & tie strapped them under the hood. Around 3 or 4 days later I looked under the hood & could smell the peppermint but found feces & wire damage. I just happened to see the nose of a rodent peeking out the hole where the hood bumper stops had been (they had been chewed off). I sprayed insect killer in the hole and a HUGE RAT ran out of a hole. I do not know how a rat that big (at least 6 inches not including the tail) could have squeezed through the small hole but he did. It was an expensive repair. Peppermint may have worked for some but not for me.

Interesting that you never remove the engine cover. There are wires under it right.
@wsbill142244 ай бұрын
Never spray the inside of the engine compartment with high pressure. Same goes for motorcycles. Low pressure only.
@LoudModeOn5 ай бұрын
Peppermint oil is flammable, so is spraying it all over an engine compartment that gets hot not dangerous?
@WesMcV5 ай бұрын
Thanks , but 6 minutes to say spraying peppermint oil is unnecessary. “ clean , dry, inspect, apply a peppermint oil spray to the inside of the engine bay”. Don’t give advertisers a chance.

Put some peppermint oil on a piece of cloth inside the air filter box too. I found a half eaten bait block and peanut shells in mine? They love to shred the air filter too and use it for their nest. They are little buggers?

I was a New Zealand Dairy Farmer and have learnt alot about Leptospirosis over the years. My Vet told me to always wash food & Beer cans lids under a tap before opening. My fathers generation, most of the dairy farmers in my area, had caught Leptospirosis. The incubation period is three weeks. At Veterinary conferences, I am told, they randomly screen Vets, and discover many that have had lepto and not known it. Lepto hits some people hard and others not so much.

I just found signs of Mice in my Tesla! Immediately set a trap and have caught one. As an Ex Mechanic I am disappointed they can somehow get in to the cabin.

First time my C6 got attacked this winter in my attached three car garage 😢 Mice went for my cabin filter and took it apart for their nesting material making one somewhere not in the car I haven’t found yet. No wires eaten thank goodness but I’ll try this next fall and mothballs in the cabin filter housing.
