This rig is not very good for big tog, I lost a jumbo this morning, same rig with longer leader
@yeezlife5 күн бұрын
This rig does wear out the leader much faster than other bottom fishing rigs so it requires more maintenance overall which is not for everyone.

@AlwaysOutdoorsy9 күн бұрын
Not sure if the video is edited but you should change out your rig after multiple casts. Especially if you’re fishing the jetty because of the abrasion. The last fish was definitely a good one.

they fight hard bro where you get the sand fleas from?
@yeezlife23 күн бұрын
I'm actually using green crabs in this video but if I ever wanted to rake for fleas I'd go to any beach in long island on the south shore and there's a ton. The sand flea population has been somewhat decimated in monmouth county so you need to rake for a long time to get a decent amount. I've also purchased fleas at a tackle store near barnegat light but I can't remember the name

Lucky ass😊 I can spend hours fishing and still not catch anything in New York. I try a variety of places when the tides are high and without results. I can't catch anything for two weeks. winter fishing is the hardest
@yeezlife9 ай бұрын
You can catch Tog pretty much anywhere that has heavy structure but after November it will be tough catching them from shore since they usually start migrating to deeper water by then. If your going for blues/stripers, you might get a better bite at sunrise. You could also be reeling in too quickly, not at the correct water column, or using the wrong presentation/bait. I've made all of these mistakes and didn't catch anything for months when I first started out lol.
