The thing that's great about this scene is that the 3 of them has good side in them and you don't know who to support: Butcher: Attacks Soldier Boy to protect Ryan from him Homelander: Cares about his son after he got hit by Soldier Boy and tells him to go upstare to stay in a safe place Soldier Boy: Even with the emotional moment when he realized that Homelander was his son he decided to kill him because he had a deal with Butcher

It's just a representation how idiots tend to justify messed up actions from entities they idolize. If you want to look left just see how there are a number of people on Twitter seeing the riots in 2020 as something that had to be done to gain equality. If you look right just look at how people on Truth Social are supporting a not so discrete wannabe dictator. We got this ending just to have Ryan (thankfully) opposing his dad the ENTIRE next season. Why foreshadow something that ends up the opposite of such? Whatever, man.
