When there were security engineers in the company, now there is a company of accountants, when Mercedes cars cared about quality and stability and did not care about profits, like today. I hope that Mercedes will return to the way it was before.

No wonder they're so hard to airbag, that spring isn't going just up and down but it's being side loaded and bound, trippy.. it would be nice to bag my car but maytill just cut a couple coils off, lol..

Yup, long travel coils! There are Sportline springs that drop the car a couple of inches without negative effects on ride.

@@jdd3993 yeah I really love the slammed look, but was thinking airnridenbc the roads are not the greatest near me and speed bumps. I may still use bags just need to figure out a better way, maybe bellow bags..

Looking forward to getting one of these this week. Also gonna be getting a ND but im on the fence cause the New Z is coming out aswell. I think the NA and Z would make a good combo but i love the ND2 so glad we live in a time to have Car dilemmas. Seems in 2010-2015 there was nothing on the market for modern Japanese sports cars.

@@jdd3993 Yes 1993 LE cannot wait. Dont ever plan on parting with it. Its pretty clean besides a few interior and exterior blemishes.

What clamp system did you use to mount this Go Pro ?

Don't laugh, but it was super simple. We used a generic GoPro strap-mount (like a belt loop strap) and threaded two screw-style hose clamps through it. Think radiator hose clamp, but bigger. This is wrapped around the base of the tail-strobe light.

Interesting the track rod is lower than the outer ball joint, hence 90% of bump steer driver correction inputs will be in towards the car

Looking at this video vs front, it seems that rear suspension osilitates more and therefore, rear dampers will wear it quicker than front struts? What do you think?

I have never noticed this phenomenon you describe, even after many hundreds of thousands of miles driven in this era of MB. I do rotate tires at each oil change, which might eliminate the wear and tear you describe.

Why is the spring sort of crooked and not straight? It seems that it might rub against the frame of the car?

Not at all, this is totally normal and as designed. Most MB with coil springs have had these long travel tight-wind springs.

This is just a recording of the engine operating normally on cold-start... it sounds loud because the microphone is under the hood. There's nothing wrong with the car! :-)

These are the OEM Sachs "Komfort" shocks, exactly what was on the car from the factory. Part numbers may be slightly different from the diesel to the gas, but usually that is cared for in spring rates rather than shocks, but best to check to be sure.

Thanks PS: I have a 2013 TDI with 118k miles and it has been completely reliable: in almost 5 years, I changed the battery and the glow plugs, period...And of course, the usual maintenance: brakes, oil,...etc.

I don't make recommendations like that mate, sorry. My experience is that the Bluetec is powerful and efficient, and the car is extraordinary at being a trip-car. But the reliability of this car, in my ownership, was dismal. And I am a Mercedes diesel kinda guy, I have driven them most of my adult life. The old "They don't make them like they used to" is definitely true.

Верхнего рычага нет удивительно ) думал что как на жигулях но нифига не так, тут амортизатор стоит как ПП стойка в каком то дичайшем касторе с опорниками сверху наверняка ШС, а пружина стоит как на жига классике.

Как-то много именно этого вопроса в интернете, на разных форумах (англоязычных, через разные года. Никто не знает точно ответа. Мой 93 400Е, с полностью новой, оригинальной подвеской, дилерским развалом схождения, новой, качественной резине - тоже, совсем слегка подрыскивает. Хрень какая-то...

Отличное видео, благодарю, Вас, за труды. Конструкция подвески заточена на комфорт и, вполне достойную, управляемость. Но ничто не сравнится с платформой Phanter, в плане мягкой и воздушной езды. Lincoln Town Car, выпускавшийся до 2002 года, подтверждает это. Но среди кузовов несущей конструкции 126-й самый комфортный.

This is a GoPro 3 Black (kinda old now) mounted with a magnetic mount. These are readily available on Amazon! Good luck with your filming!

Really puts in to perspective the hard life those LCA outer balljoints have - they just never stop moving other than when the cars stationary. And the track rod balljoints, they are constantly moving and wearing, not just while steering.
