i'd like to inquire about the instruments you used in this track? i hear that when artists attempt to make middle eastern, they're usually based on stereotypes and imo that's quite unpleasant. they'd use instruments from south asia instead of middle eastern, and obviously that one very common scale with desert vibes nonetheless, this is a banger. been listening to this all day

hi, thank you. i completely agree with you. it is impossible to know how music sounded back then but we know which instrument were there and which not, and for sure they didn't use midi loops and bowed instruments, or indian percussions, which is what unfortunately you hear mostly associated with ancient kemet. In this part we played frame drums from north africa and mid east, and crash cymbals (not used in kemet btw..). Phisically modified version of a persian saz, a persian setar and classical guitar with reverb.

@@sethperibsen2990 thank you for your response. i just listened to some of your other work and it's quite lovely, i like the incorporation of electric guitar/other modern instruments. it's a lot more novel than those i've heard. good work mate (also you just gained a new subscriber)
