Wow! I didn’t know there were so many Plus/4 games now. Back in the 1980s I had ACE, Mercenary and a bunch of pretty lame commodore 16 games.

This was my first computer/ games machine. Never heard of much about it. Was sad when parents sold it and bought Commodore 64. That worked out though😀

This is a great video, I just recently found a VIC20 in the thrift store and it's interesting how some of the games it's clear how they used what they could where others it looks like some dark magic where you can't even tell the thing can't run bitmap framebuffers.

So this appears to have been a successor to the VIC20. I am curious though why they bothered when the C64 was out there and had hardware sprites, more RAM, and an amazing SID chip. It just seems like they were continuously targeting smaller price points no matter what filled that space. I can't help but think that consolidation would have benefited them more in the long run. Hindsight is 20/20, as they say. I am however impressed at games like Bongo which seem to be using software sprites rather seamlessly.

Much better colours then the C64, faster processor (1.76 mhz compared to 1Mhz), much better basic, infinitely faster disk access, better memory management, more memory available to basic for expanded 64k or Plus/4, really, really fast modem support, and apparently a double resolution interlaced mode, but I never saw anything about that at the time. But, still completely pointless and a bit disappointing when my dad bought a Plus/4 instead of a C64 Due to the games. I had a lot of fun programming it though and it set me up with a great career for life.

@@paullee3660would have been cool if commodore would have increased the memory clock actually like they did for Amiga. Add some buffers. Instead of multicolor mode, characters with one special attribute (white on white?) should have 256 color pixels. Then the CPU could draw a player sprite without clash. Make it so that 4 characters can pull from a 16x16=256 byte buffer so that the CPU can draw vector planes.

Ördög motor, Áttörés, Mr. Alex (ezt speciel sosem kedveltem de hát siker lett nemrég a Flappy bird is.. 🤷) Bombázó, Ninja(ez USA Ninja néven volt ismert nálunk) Az istennek sem találom azt az űrhajós játékot ami valószínűleg egy Star Trek klón akart lenni, az egyetlen játékunk volt ami Cartridge-n volt, koordináták alapján kellett utazni és harcolni is, a lézer lövés például egy szögérték megadása után és a lézer erősség beállítása után volt lehetséges, fogyó pajzs is volt benne amit bazisokkal lehetett ujratölteni,..

I've actually never even heard of the Commodore 16 before 😂 I thought it was a spelling error and typed 64 wrong.. I wonder why I've never heard of it before?? Well I guess I've ran into a bunch of people that didn't know the Ultimax as well 🤷🏻‍♀️

Időutazás,még megvan a plusim,rengeteg játékot újságot készítettünk rá. Már a a plusi is Microsd kártyával üzemel,mint az Amigák(Gotek). R.I.P. Skoro a videóban is mennyi jó játéka szerepelt.

Wow! Didn't realise the '64's' younger brother could do this. Well done to the coder's who've pushed the machine to the limits. Using a lot less RAM too! These demo's would be impressive on a 64, but this amazing!

Commodore messed up not putting the SID chip in the plus/4. They should have known that people would still turn this into a game machine. Alsp no hardware sprites either. This was a Commodore mistake big time. I wish the C=64 would have had at least 32 colors at minimum. I was never hapoy with the 16 they provided and they wernt very vibrent. O loved my C64 and playing and Sid Music on it. But just 16 more colors would have made it so much more diverse. Even the Atari 2600 had more colors.

I guess it's a compilation of several separate demos. Some of which I haven't even seen myself. But I am of the C64 generation. My neighbour was the one who had a VIC-20.
