Looking into purchase this item. Were you able to swap the fuse positions or did you have to leave them where they were?

How did you actually adjust the IAC Valve?

Just swapped this out myself. I had the same buildup. I was super-worried about that because I know that vacuum hose is immediately right there. I was worried because I thought maybe there was something going on with too much oil heading up the vacuum. I swapped out the IAC for a brand new one. I have 22 error codes on a '98 that I just bought and am trying to sort everything out. I'm just replacing every single thing with the fuel/air/oxygen/spark system just to be certain.

Should mention that you may need to have it reset with the computer. That’s what happened to me after I installed a new idle air intake control valve. It would not reset and I had to take it to my mechanic. Thanks

The relays inside are not the same amperage. There's a video that shows the circuit board without the water resistant coating and you can see that the 30a have a different arrangement

When you reset the values, did you do it while the engine was running or just in the Key On position?
@pawpawbandit3871
@pawpawbandit3871 6 ай бұрын
you wouldn't do it with the engine running; you could, but it wouldn't matter. But no, don't do it with the engine on, in case it caused some weird hiccup.

Brother i have the same gems engine range rover 1996 P38 4.6HSE with a stalling issue. Normally it works fine but it happens when coming to a stop..When i press brake harder, Idle drops down to about 500 then zero and jump up right away. Sometimes it dies. Computer is not showing any faults. Mechanic says the stepper motor needs replacing and we change it but nothing chages. Do you hear an issue like this?

@Kyle Gillett yes. I replaced the aftermarket fuel injectors with the oem ones I had rebuilt and reset base idle. So far so good now and it's been a month.

They have different relays internally. It wouldn't be a good idea. There's a video in which you can see the circuit board without the water resistant layer

Nice, but you should definitely fit a rubber grommet to the battery wire pass through hole at 3:04. And any other places where the wire insulation would get cut through over time.
@brandondisco199

Absolutely. The wires are all now loomed with plastic. Good call

@@brandondisco199 Thanks for the video Brandon, I was looking at doing a similar install on my Disco and was wondering how and where to move the power steering reservoir. I would recommend installing two fuse holders inline with the red cable, one for each battery, close to the terminals to prevent a fire and/or the need to replace the cable and possibly both batteries if you think it’s possible that the cable could wear through on the chassis. Two maxi blade fuse holders with 80 amp fuses should cover it.

IAC is an expensive part - 99% of the time if you soak it for a day or two in carb cleaner that will take care of this issue
