You can use M1-108(A) oil filter. If it hasn't already, you will find that the carb leaks into the bowl as if the needle valve has failed. It's not the needle valve. It's the poorly designed plastic float pivot holder that also somehow has gas pressure on its back. The plastic goes bad and starts to drip gas into the bowl and, if it's not blocked, out the bowl overflow drain. If critters have blocked that drain hose, as is very common, the gas goes into the engine. So rule #1 is keep the gas valve off unless it's running. If you want to fix the problem, you have a couple of options. There are no OEM replacement carbs. You can use the OEM carb that fits the engine on the tractor version of this engine with some minor mods to the choke cable. These carbs are scarce and expensive. You can get a clone carb of the tractor version. Readily available and inexpensive, but performance is iffy. I've had to drill out main jets on these to make the engine stable, with dubious effects on emissions and fuel usage. Don't neglect the coolant. The system is corrosion prone so you should consider ~5 years the limit for coolant. Use whatever you want to refill. I really like the BMW blue coolant which seems to prevent all corrosion. If you've neglected it, as is pretty common, you'll have to flush it with Prestone flush or similar. It will take a high concentration and a few hours of loaded operation to clean it all out. This generator has no problem producing 7000W for as long as the circuit breaker will hold it. 6500W is no problem, but may not carry indefinitely as the breaker might trip. It will do 6000W 24/7 as long as you feed it gas and a little oil now and then. Valve lash needs adjusting every 300-400 hours. Seriously. At this age, you should consider replacing the timing belt. Not a very difficult job except you have to pull the flywheel.

great video. no fluff, no odd music, no fade aways, parts list, and potential upgrade to a bracket. You seem very confident it will fit all 1 ton AGT minis. I think i will have to take that chance and order in some parts. Mine only has an in tank filter. hydro tank is under the floor panel toward the front of the machine if that makes any difference.

I have this machine, I can't get it to idle, has lots of power and very fast. Took carb apart and went through all the jets and cleaned it like you did in this video. Changed spark plug, plug was black. Blows black smoke when opening throttle in neutral. Seems like it is running rich and there is no mixture screw on the stock carburetor. I read that it may need a valve adjustment? Any ideas?

Just because you have a phone AND CAN make youtube videos does NOT MEAN YOU SHOULD. You obviously have NO concept of the design and goal of these generators. They are similar in the fact that they are both Honda and both generators. That is where it ends. The companion model is designed to work WITH the 2000i via the appropriate connection cable. You then, and ONLY then get the 4000 watt 30 amp capability. Yes the Companion model can be used alone BUT you will not get the 30 amps out of it, ONLY 15 amps continuous. Your comments at around the 5 minute mark are simply WRONG. Read the the writing and notices on the generator that you HAVE YOUR FINGER ON. The setup is a niche product for folks like myself who need or want the extra amperage but not the large unmaneuverable single unit required for that. Having two units that I can move around individually is of great benefit for us serious RVer's. If I want lights, TV coffee, the one small unit gets to work, IF I'm running my AC and other items, bingo, connect them together and I have 4000 watts and 30 amps available. The added bonus is that I now have my eggs in TWO baskets and the chances of both generators having a problem simultaneously is remote. Comparing the two generators proves that you know nothing about either and are doing a huge disservice to all who watch this. The comments generally show total lack of understanding by the watchers of this. IF you are making videos, you are entitled to your opinions BUT get the FACTS RIGHT. Your misinformation is verging on dangerous

Definitely saved me some time with this one. It sucks that Honda is such great quality but have been so rapidly outpaced in features on these quite good Chinese-made generators now that undercut price by 65+% while having triple or quadruple the features. Having 1 single 120-volt outlet and 1 twist lock 30-amp outlet on a $1,200 suitcase generator is insane to me.

Thanks for the tutorial man! Saved me $700+ over a remanufactured unit! Helps to have a shop press for everything too. I made a custom piece of pipe to fit the three spoke part to separate the upper half and grabbed that with a pipe wrench, I was scared I was gonna break the cast aluminum with a pry bar.

Would appreciate any suggestions. 2012 Polaris 800 Razor EFI hesitates at 45-50 mph. 45 is about 6350rpm. Not really a sputter or cough. Repairman just cleaned throttle body and fuel injectors and said idle air circuit was partially open causing a misfire at that speed. None of the work performed solved the issue. One person suggested the primary and secondary cluthes might be fighting each other. No idle issues. Need to get it fixed pretty quick so we can sell it and move, but I want it to be right. I should also mention that it has full power no issues 0-45. No codes, no engine light. Always at that speed only.Thanks.
