Nice video! It looked like you knew there was no traffic in the opposite direction; keeping the left side in quite high speed in blind left curves? Or were you just lucky?
@roadsahead8 күн бұрын
Cheers mate! There was no traffic on the tracks at all except for us. The only cars we encountered have been on the wide tarmac roads. Other than that it felt like we are alone the whole day. 😎

Do you have a laptop for editing? I imagine so. It's daunting thinking of all the equipment one needs to travel and vlog at the same time. Do you stand up on your pegs offroad? I know the KTMs can be a little uncomfortable due to sloping pegs.
@roadsahead16 күн бұрын
Yes I have a MacBook with me. It’s lightweight and handle everything I trough at it. I stand quite a bit on and off-road. Didn’t have any issues with the original pegs so far. But I also don’t have the biggest feet.

Sometimes you have a big red number in the middle of the dash and I can't figure out what it is?
@roadsahead18 күн бұрын
The red number indicated the traction control level. 1 being the lowest and 9 the highest. This only shows up on the KTM adventure bikes if your are in the so-called "Rally" Mode

@roadsahead18 күн бұрын
I usually try to concentrate on the beautiful roads, tracks and scenery here on this channel. A lot of interaction are not filmed as I find it really disrespectful to stick a camera into someone's face. I don't like that, so I'm not doing it either. Further I usually explore my surrounding where I'm staying without any cameras on hand. That is my "personal" time. ;) Hope this makes things a little bit clearer.

Found my new bingewatch :) After seeing your Albany trip/Valley of The Giants (I Live in Albany, though I'm Scottish!) - I'm going to watch your whole trip :) 2:41 one of the roads I frequent quite often :) There are no Quokka's where you were. The only mainland Quokka population you'll see is where you were at the Valley of the Giants ;)

Nice to see you've been out this way. I'm sort of early on in my motorcycle adventure and live in Albany. Just started posting videos. I'm going to see if I can pick up some tips from you including some tracks! :) Ride safe - EDIT: at 8:37 what trail is this? As for riding in sand, I'm a newbie, but go watch Adam Reimann :D Had just gotten my first bike (even though I'm 53!) in January when you were here. if you ever pass by again, please send me a message! I'd love to show you some nice spots!

Hey Mate and welcome to the comment section! :) And to the world of adventure riding! It's an addictive one. Trust me I watched all of Adams video and could meet him in person earlier this year. As for the trail: Staring from Northcliffe on the Boorara Rd onto the Jackson Rd and up the Muirillup Rd. I think that was the roads I took back then. I will answer your comments and questions one by one. But it might take some days as I'm in Portugal preparing for this year's KTM Adventure Rally. Have fun on the trails and stay save!

I got it over with a "Carnet de passage" via a shared sea freight container. But I would not recommend doing that! It's way too expensive and nerve-racking! You better off renting or buying and selling a bike over there.

'Kozzie' was named by a Polish explorer Paweł Edmund Strzelecki for it's resemblance to a Polish Mt. Strzelecki has a famous South Australian track named after him. The Strzelecki track (one of three famous tracks in that area, along with the Oodnadatta and Birdsville tracks). The Strzelecki track runs up to the South Australian town of Innamincka near the far north western South Australian border. As of two years ago, when I was there, the Strzelecki was being graded and sealed to facilitate the transport of gas from the massive gas fields close to Innamincka. Innamincka is also near where two early European explorers Burke and Wills succumbed to their arrogance and stupidity in 1861. That whole area is close to where BMW Mottorad runs annual offroad GS Safaris.

If you're still in Sydney and heading north after look at the Putty Road, Old Pacific Highway and Oxley Highway. There's also numerous dirt roads Sydney to Gold Coast look at Moto Rides Australia for suggestions (map file downloads). There's many others you can use for research. There's a map book called Australia's Greatest Rides, find it and use it. Sadly, you missed on the way to Sydney, Cann River, Imlay Road, Kangaroo Valley, Bulli Pass, the Sea Cliff Bridge. Mate, it seems to me you're doing yourself a disservice by not looking at some roads... Loud Pipes Save Lives! Your bike is to quiet. 🙂
