What’s neat about this hymn is that the tune, Ellacombe, is used for several hymns, including LSB 906, “O Day of Rest and Gladness”

This hymn can also be sung to tune St George's Windsor used for (Come ye thankful people) come join verses 2,4,6,8 to verses 1,3,5,7 to make 4 whole verses if singing to that tune.

I like having the melody with words on the slides! Where can our church find these for the LSB?
@st.stephenlutheran_teamjesus Жыл бұрын
Hi! We get the slides with the melody and words from Lutheran Service Builder App (online), they have all the hymns and liturgy for the LSB.

Hi it’s Ella. Thank you so much for this video, but I have a few questions. How do I know when I need to do it? Do I need to pick up communion cups when communion is served?
@st.stephenlutheran_teamjesus Жыл бұрын
Hi Ella, A sign up list will be emailed to you and then you can sign up from it. Yes when communion is served the acolyte will follow behind the common cup and pick up the individual cups.

Thank you so much for sharing this hymn on KZbin. I grew up going to church with my family on Sundays. Every now and then, I will have a thought or memory and it will make me think of this hymn. When that happens, I'll always want to hear this hymn, being sung and played in the exact same way as I can still hear from my memory of those old days, back when my dad's mom and dad, (who I knew as grandma and grandpa) were still alive and going to church with us. I always remember this song sounding like our old Lutheran church's acoustics, and old church organ made it sound, when accompanied by our small choir and all of the voices of everyone there in the congregation. When this song was sung, everyone who was there in the congregation, would get just a little bit better at singing. Their voice would gain a little more strength, and you could tell that it was a song that really empowered people. Even guests who didn't know it's pacing or words would try harder than usual to join in and to keep up and stay singing along with everyone there. The older folks even who had less wind in their singing, even their voices would become a little bit louder, with just a little more strength put into their sinhing voices. I will always remember and love the sound of this songs intro, signaling it's beginning for everyone, and how the voices of everyone there got just a little bit better when this song was sung. Like a tiny little miracle God was working in everyone there who loved this song.
