The Central Florida Orchid Society has a wonderful fun group of orchid hobbyists with a fantastic QR code culture sheet to take to orchid shows. It was great seeing Eric & Erica (young orchid vendors) and their love of bringing moderately priced plants to shows. Nice to see Penny, Orchids in Bloom at this show and of course all of the new merch Stacey with Orchid Pots Studio is 3D printing. Once again Keith & Dina Emig have a lovely selection of their great hybridizing and flasks. Sergio and Vicky you are doing such fun videos for a lifetime of hobbyists to view. Good idea to bring in the OGs so they are digitized for others to see and appreciate their stories. Respectfully,

Thanks for sharing Teri’s talk 😊. This was a great pep talk reminding us that we can’t grow everything. I have bought more than a few orchids because I fell in love with the flowers and have learned the hard way that every orchid won’t be happy in Florida 😮😢😂. Wishing you two a very happy Thanksgiving 🦃 😊❤

@vickyslikes5 күн бұрын
Hi, it is. Our advice is to take your time looking. It's definitely less congested and more greenery. Clermont is a nice area, although it is getting more congested. Winter Park is very nice, Winter Gardens, The Villages..if you are buying new, make sure there is no CDD where you are buying. Healthcare is not as good, but overall, it is a better life. It also depends on how old you are 😂😂😂

I loved learning about Mr. Hamilton being a dog breeder. What specific breed did he show? As mentioned Mr. Hamilton commented in this interview that in order to attract younger people to the fascination of the orchid hobby he felt that "We have to make it interesting for people." He went on to say that [ orchids] are expensive for young people. I have to disagree. During Covid people stayed shuttered in doors and the prices of Hoyas and some commonly grown houseplants saw prices spike. They 'younger people' drove up the prices. Both Vicky and Mr. Hamilton agreed that people don't want to read about care of their orchids. They want instant information from the internet and some vendors.

Hi, Debb. We enjoyed making this video so much. It was so much fun and interesting to hear a story from a legend in the orchid world. We hope that with our videos, we are making it interesting for younger future orchid hobbyists. Thanks so much for your input.
