in addtion to the lanyard ( I got Petzl Scorpio Vertigo Lanyard) what type of harness did you use, I'm looking at some ultralightweight type like "Petzl TOUR Harness - Lightweight Harness for Glacier Travel and Ski Touring" Would it be sufficient for via Ferrata, or do I need a full climbing harness.

Where is the most dangerous stage on Alta 2 trail?
@hopefulwanderer64992 жыл бұрын
Hi, I would say the most tricky is the ice-field crossing near Punta Penia. You definitely need gear for that (crampons, ice-axe)…it was on Day 5 for us. Also I’ve read there’s a difficult via ferrata on the very last stage between Rif Boz and Croce d’Aune (but we didn’t hike this last stage) You can read more about the trail on my blog if you want 😉 www.hopefulwanderer.life Happy trails!

@@hopefulwanderer6499 I see there are bears too..😳😳😳

@@Stauffenberg359 Yes! Beware...it was a big surprise for us. Apparently they were nearly eradicated in this area in the past but in recent years they were reintroduced and their population rose again. Don´t cook near your tent/bivouac :)

@@hopefulwanderer6499 So if i choose alta via 1 route, also there is a chance to meet a bear on the way...?🤦♂️but what about wild goats with long horns, are they not dangerous for hikers?

You showed me why I want to hike the Alta Via I and not the AVII 🙃
@hopefulwanderer64992 жыл бұрын
I hope Alta Via 1 is the more kind, more moderate sister :-) if I can give just one piece of advice, I would say go as light as you can. Your kness will thank you :-)
@Optidorf2 жыл бұрын
The AVI is less strenuous as the AVII, but is not to be underestimated. I did several treks now (West Highland Way, Westweg, Laugavegur) and each time I remind myself that I have to pack as little as possible. And then I start with 20 kilos on a trek... 🙂

@@hopefulwanderer6499 Hi Kristyna! Thank you very much for the link. I have read your blog this morning. I live in Granada at the moment and was looking for sort of a long-ish trek without having to travel far. I am thinking about doing it next month, but it snowed quite a lot there this weekend so I will keep monitoring the situation :) happy trails!!!

@@kleops888 cool! I Absolutely loved this trail (except for these biting flies or whatever it was)...I would definitely recommend it. If you gonna do it, let me know how you liked it ;-) Cheers, K.
