The second book felt way too long. I feel like you can cut 15 chapters and you wouldn’t miss anything important. I dnfd it last year and I just started reading it again and it’s just losing my attention, I forget what this book is supposed to be about lol.

Omg just finished and I was hooked! I had guessed that Cat Jones was going to be Catherine Kelly, and honestly Jack and Anna grew on me, I really didn't like them at first.... I was convinced it was Priya at one point, as it was too obvious to be Jack or Alice... guess the one question I still have, who was messing with Annas hotel.room with the chocolate wrappers etc?

I just finished the book....i like the plot.....some part felt unrealistic and there was so much happening one after other no time left to digest it all....and some part were quetionavle and comes the most undeserving part was ben being together with jordyn likeeee whyyyy???? Ben called her sister.......i totally agree fallon left him it could any other girl whyyyyy jordyn???? Why your dead brother's wife
@vionafernandes4619Ай бұрын
I loved the book. But i agree with a lot of things you said. There were some very questionable moments. I didn't like the Jordyn dating part at all. I felt at the end fallon should have forgiven him but not got back with him. Cuz as much as he loved her he should have told her the truth from day 1. A lot of people hate the book and it's understandable but I enjoyed it. I loved Ben in the beginning a lot. But after reading the manuscript I got a bit upset thinking about the times he would encourage her and talk positively about her scars even tho he knew he was responsible for it even tho it was unintentional.

I hope someone can answer my comment because i was talking to someone at a customer survice from a book shop and they told me that this book without sprayed edges is what the writer wrote and the one with the sprayed edges is the international variant, which is a basically the same but it’s a little changed by the audience itself. The story is the same, but the details could be slightly different from what the writer wrote. Is this true?

As someone who only started reading last year, i read this because i heard good things about it and i loved it 🤗 But i 100% agree about the lol moments 😂. And i agree a about it being long. I gave 5 starts for the characters and the story but i did say it was too long.
@KristleLauren8 ай бұрын
For sure! It was a really fun read but for sure had a lot of fluff and could’ve been shorter. But still really loved the characters and could feel their chemistry! It was also really funny in some parts and loved the banter!

You might want to try reading Fourth Wing again then. All the problems of this book were present in that one, too. The only exception is that this book is longer and even less happens. Apparently there's a not unsubstantial number of people who have went back to read Fourth Wing and realized it was not as good as they initially thought.

•Slow burn romances do not conspire to get their main characters together under cheap, contrived circumstances that were never even needed in the first place. This is not a slow burn romance. Frankly I'm not even convinced it was ever trying to be. It's cheap wish fulfillment. •The "spice" was certainly done well if you were looking for comedy as the sex scene is actually pretty funny. No other real value can be derived from them. •The worldbuilding in this book was nonsensical. The officers that run Basgaiath are some of the dumbest top brass I've seen in fiction. There's a difference between a ruthless and efficient war machine that cares little for the humanity of its components and one that wastes its human resources under what the author thinks is a "close enough" representation of a social Darwinist society. Even the Nazis weren't so dumb as to let human resources go to needless waste the way Navarre does. And that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to how much of a bloated facade this book's "worldbuilding" is. •Violet is easily the worst part of this book. She's nothing but a vapid valley girl especially based on how she narrates the book. Normally this wouldn't be an absolute deal breaker since it could certainly lead to a character arc where she has to actually notice the world around her (especially when the world is perfectly set up to explore fascist indoctrination of societies, but of course we're never going to get that given Rebecca Yarros's personal politics), but the universe insists on bending over backwards to make sure she receives no character arc to speak of. The salt in the wound from there on is Rebecca straight up gaslighting the reader into thinking that she has changed when she hasn't and people FALLING FOR IT.
@KristleLauren9 ай бұрын
lol sheesh, it's not that serious...
@GatekeeperGuardian-wv3cd9 ай бұрын
@@KristleLauren And? I'm a consumer of shonen anime and manga that are rarely serious. The difference is that shonen series are series you can enjoy without thinking too hard about it while Fourth Wing is something you can ONLY enjoy without thinking too hard about it.
@KristleLauren9 ай бұрын
@@GatekeeperGuardian-wv3cd I disagree 😊 I enjoyed it very much and it’s okay that you didn’t. No need to have such a negative tone in my comments just because I enjoyed a book that you didn’t lol. It’s literally just a book and again, it’s NOT THAT SERIOUS.
@GatekeeperGuardian-wv3cd9 ай бұрын
@@KristleLauren Neither is One Piece, but at least the world (mostly) makes sense. I don't have to think too hard about it, but when I do I can enjoy it even more. The same cannot be said for this. I can't enjoy it with my brain off because of how insufferable Violet is as a character and I can't enjoy it with my brain on because of the sheer incompetence of Navarre's top brass and Yarros expecting people to just take it in stride.
@rinac8859 ай бұрын
You deserve so much for reviewing this book without spoilers. I had no idea how you were going to do it but you have done the impossible! I agree with basically everything that you said in your closing notes and I love Bunny to bits. Mona Awad did such a good job making a bad vibe that was so memorable, interesting and relatable. The world of Bunny is so jam-packed with vivid, larger than life environments that I imagined the story in a theatrical tone, which really helped me suspend my disbelief, and I think that really enhanced my enjoyment of the plot and all of its unexpected events. What I found really unique about the book was the way that reading all of the shocking, confusing plot events and the maximalist sets connected the reader to Samantha. When you're reading through, you share Samantha's feelings of being disorientated, overwhelmed and vulnerable. Of course I have had sympathy feelings with other book characters before, but no author has ever done this as intensely as Mona Awad in Bunny. She had me mirroring Sam's state of mind just through my own reading experience.
