Your comment about how comfortable and smooth a drive this is impacted me the most. I've been going round and round about the F150 Tremor, Raptor or Platinum. I want that buttery smooth drive of the Raptor, and road clearance, but wish it wasn't quite so wide. The Tremor has the front torsion diff while the Raptor does not, at least not going forward. I like the luxury seats of the Platinum and the Powerboost. I do wish I could get the 2025 Tremor with the Powerboost. That said, in part b/c of your and others comments about the smooth drive of the Tremor, plus its greater payload capacity versus the Raptor, the Tremor just seems the sweet spot, and I am thinking maybe a 2-3" lift with 35" tires and a bit more poke in after market to maximize its benefits. Torn between the RSI Smartcap or the Diamondback HD bedcover after market too. Considering Agate Black but leaning Oxford white. Any thoughts on any of this? Either way, useful video. Thanks for sharing. I would likely get the high level F150 Tremor so that will add a few things. I will say, having to remove that piece of the skid place to access the oil filter, that concerns me. If the skid plate does what is intended, but that little piece, all or part of it, is what gets hit, that might just make it impossible to unscrew those screws, and I can only imagine what would have to be done to get that off and fix it. I wasn't aware of this little fact.

Good to see some good numbers. I just traded my 2023 Ram 2500 Power Wagon for a 2024 Chevy 2500 ZR2. I have only 600 miles, and love my truck. I had a 2020 Trail Boss and it was a good truck. The seats were leather, but pretty hard on the body. The ZR2 has nice bucket seats with a lot of bolster. They are not as comfy as the Ram's seat, but the Chevy drives much better.

@rutbuster88 I'm pretty. Sure he knows how to fill it out. He was a guide in Colorado for 8 years , he doesn't live in Oregon anymore. The first 10 years of sending and he lived here in Oregon then he moved to California for work then Colorado now he's in Georgia. And he is. Contacted fish and wildlife and they have no explanation for him. But he thinks it's because he's moved so many times and he is now an outer stater and not an Oregon resident.
@rutbuster88Ай бұрын
@@derekcarpenter5394 Ok, the out of state issue is likely it. Oregon limits non-resident tag numbers to 5% of the tag allocation. This unit and the other two like it have roughly 50 tags, so that's 2-3 tags he's battling other non-residents for. I hope he draws soon, it's a great hunt.

I was wondering if you had kept track of the fuel used as per a full tank off the start and a final fill at the end to compare with the computer readout ?. Also being that you were driving a near empty HD truck, what tire pressures were you running front and rear. I realize the idiot TPMS system wants to make a person think there is something wrong when lowering the pressure to what is required for the actual weight of the axles ( per tire/weight charts ) and that prevents some from thinking they can lower the pressure when empty to get a better ride .. at a slight reduction in fuel mileage though as its always a trade off.
@rutbuster883 ай бұрын
I did not track fuel consumption and I've left the tires at whatever was set at the factory. The ride is comfortable so I haven't considered lowering the pressure. Thanks for watching.
@charlesb42673 ай бұрын
@@rutbuster88 I thought about what you said of the ride and where you drove and probably very little of that whole trip even on the northern section was on highways that actually see much in the way of freezing temps and the type of frost heaves and pot holes that we get here in northern Alberta. Its been many years since I was on l 5 south of Seattle to the Willamette valley area or also on Vancouver Island and across to Tofino but don't recall anything bad at the time for road smoothness. Most heavy duty pickups do not ride very well up here on our crap pavement, certainly not the solid front axle Ford or Ram trucks and why I was curious about your tire pressures ( I should have known better, its like a different world road wise down there ) and have been contemplating a purchase of a GM HD gas truck but have not done a demo of one in later years with the 6.6. By the way my dad was born in Oregon before the depression and was on a little farm in what now is part of Sherwood and I see from the map greater Portland is certainly not far away anymore !. Thought you might find that amusing.
@jerrypierson3450Ай бұрын
@@charlesb4267 I have a 2024 Chevrolet 2500hd double 4x4 with a 4WheelCamper Hawk. When I get off pavement, I lower the tire pressure to 32 PSI to improve ride and traction. Even at full tire pressure the truck rides great for a 3/4 ton truck. I have seen higher MPG on the freeway then my 1/2 ton trucks with this camper. With 1/2 ton truck I was at my full payload or above, with the 2500hd I am in the middle of my payload, which is a good place to be.

The last three Chevy vehicles we owned.. all purchased new and all had major issues. My 2004 Avalanche was nice, but had lots of random issues (wiper motor, window motor, tailgate latch malfuntion, etc). My wife's 2014 Traverse needed a motor replacement in 2017 forcing her to trade it in. And last week my 2017 Silverado with only 99k miles had a catastrophic transmission failure. I'm done with GM (especially Chevy). Went to a Honda Ridgeline...

You ever do any preventative maintenance? I've had 4 gmc over last 20 years, still got 3 , also wife drives equinox , they've all been great so far , but I also do maintenance on them myself , service myself 🤷
@karlschauff79894 ай бұрын
GM transmissions need the fluid changed more often than some other brands and the transmission cooler bypass is something that needs to be changed out for the lower temperature version documented in a TSB. They're solid trucks aside from the trans cooler bypass cooking the transmission. Be careful with that Ridgeline, they have a terrible reputation for transmissions too.
