Awesome inside info. Been riding dirt bikes since 1974 and road bikes since 1978...countersteering has always been the inside secret to speed in the turns. Also, one rule of at least dirt (and mostly for street) is "when in doubt, pin it".
@AkatarawaJapan7 күн бұрын

Hello, would like to do a three day guided tour of off trail Mnt sledding in Japan, is there a website that help plan and budget the trip, would want to rent a skidoo 850 turbo and ride off trail areas. Do you have a website or is there a guide website for an American to use. Thanks

No, only the 600, which was a good ride. Unfortunately 858 prices are completely insane in Japan-exchange rate has killed it, and the way the Cat business is structured here has made them cost more than even a turbo Doo. Equivalent of a full year’s salary for most of the guys who would be buying one. Ain’t gonna happen.

Thanks for the video, the BRP instruction webpage did not have the install instruction (even it said in the added paper info in the box i could download it) so thanks to this video i got more sure on what places to mount the toe-hold´s. i have made one ride with them now. and so far i have only been able to "lay it down" as you do then we had more snow this winter. that was without the toe-holders and i was putting my toes under the plastic hood without thinking. Anyhow i need to wressel my Lynx Xterrain from 2020 a bit more to be able to replicate what i see in this video 😄 i will be right back, need to test and train now! seee you later!

the throttle blipping is very "Asian" if you seen the bikes with super long exhaustion pipes. they sound super silly. like a "legendary snowmobile blipping" 🤣
@NiclasHorn10 ай бұрын
hahaha that ex video with the boy´s blipping away, lols that was isane. but i know i blipp cuz i feel my throttle is often hart to have the speed i want with steady throttle pos. but i am pretty sure i can get rid of the blipping. (this is my 4th winter on a sled so i am a novice.) both on my old sled (Arctic Cat 2001 ) and my new for this winter Lynz XTerrain 2020 i alway felt the throttle to be a bit "agressive" on the low end. but i am pretty sure i just need to get used to the throttle character.
@NiclasHorn10 ай бұрын
i am a "old" bikerider, counter steering is natural on my Yamaha R6 or my Husaberg FS650. but i never thought riding a snowmobile was SO similar to ride a bike, not entierly. i did see it another video. and i do see on the extreme snowmobile riders it looks very alike a bike rider. so i tride my self now that we had much much more snow and had deep powder snow in Sweden. And yes it was mindblowing. i applied some of my bike thinking and skill. and the sled where just going there i looked without thinking. I am still very novies as a sled rider. and i have to practise more and my throttle control needs to be improved. but what i can say is sense the day i understood it was very similar as bikeriding many things become easer and more flow in my riding. to add some context, i did ride for 3 years a Arctic Cat zr 440 with a 600cc EFI engien. low, flat wide toad. but this winter i upgraded to a Lynx Xterrain 600R and that is much narrower and taller. and you sit in a very different posision compare to my 20 year old Arctic Cat. so the Lynx is more suited for "bike like" riding. Counter steering on my Yamaha R6 makes the bike "fall in to" the corner i am turning in.

I'm hesitating between a gen 4 summit 850, 2018 mountain cat and an axys rmk 800. I want a snowmobile that is maneuverable, easy ot ride and reliable. On the Polaris I am undecided about the reliability, on the cat the same thing and on the ski doo the maneuverability. I would like to hear your opinion about that. Thank you and very good comparison video
@AkatarawaJapan11 ай бұрын
Ideally you would find a way to try each of them and see which suits you best. If the Cat has got an Alpha rail it is super easy to get on one ski and unbeatable in powder. I rode a Gen 4 for a couple of seasons. Stonking engine but the bump steer got to me in the end. Have only been on an Axys twice so don’t know much about them. Reliability-who knows.

We are also having a fantastic snowmobiling season here in Wellington. January is definitely our busy month. If you’re interested in a joint venture we should talk. I have loads of clients that would like to tour with you. If you have any spare bookings once the Nigerians have gone - sing out.

I’ve heard that Wellington is up there with Okinawa in terms of riding terrain-great to hear you are having a strong season. You make a good point about the potential website name. E is still a vowel in most prefectures of Japan but its pronunciation is closer to our Q so I tend to give it honorary consonant status. Also, I really like eggs and frankfurters. FCK Y TNY!

Been out on it 3 times so far and have to say it feels like the best sled I've ever had , I am worried about the engine problems we all hear about but I'll find out I guess . Many thanks for this inspirational video about following your passion to its logical conclusion. I have taken the liberty of using this on my famous 'Be the best version of you by paying me to be the best version of me telling you how to be you' course. This is the first course in my 'Climbing Mount You' series in which I use inspritaitonal footage from the real world of outdoor pursuits as an inspiration to inspire people who see themselves as themselves to see themselves as me, but by using other people's ideas and creativity. I quit my guiding job in the country to bring my country wisdom to the city where people are souless, robotic, over-stimulated and inauthentic. Sure, I have to live on the street, but with modern tools like an internet computer in a public library and a food bank you don't need a lot of money to deliver transformational insight by following your dream. Join me in Ueno park. I have photocopy leaflets and a loud voice. You could be part of my outreach team and embrace the 'Mount You Lifestyle Warriors' lifestyle -- it's authentic and real!
