Poorly written, Jack is just random human with zero backstory. He never once tries to explain WHY freedom and self determination are important and Saris never explains why she is so curious about humans. They never communicate with each other.

Somewhere around 30 minutes, I thought the escape was going to demonstrate the best way to initiate a hyperspace jump

Interesting... Through most of the story, Jack appeared to be a low- intelligent petulant 💩. Where was he going to escape to? How would he get off the planet? He didn't even know how he was brought to the planet. If he managed to make it to a vessel capable of space travel, how would he know how to operate & navigate it? Pretty sure the Aliens would be smart enough to have security protocols preventing this sort of theft. The only "true" reality is somehow Jack & Saris actually managed to fall In 💕 and marry after a year or so. Food for 💭 - Seeing as how Jack thought of himself as a kidnapped prisoner, I'd love to see how Jack's vocal attitude would fare in a WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War or Middle East POW camp. 🤔🧐😒 Anyone younger than "Boomer" or "Gen-X" don't seem to grasp this type of "reality". In real life, there's no such thing as a "safe space". 😂
