Great video. Clear and simple instructions relating to this setup. I did exactly as shown on my 2009 R56 Cooper S, manufactured Oct 2008 with this option. Would have taken 30 mins for both sides but one spring clip hook was broken off. These are small, weak cast metal. I would advise use your fingers not pliers to remove and replace the clips. Also the white plastic dip mechanism carrier on the left unit was snapped off one side, allowing the bulb to slam around, which broke it pretty quick. (Roads in the UK are very badly potholed). I fixed it with about a kilo of epoxy. It'll be fine!

Hey man great video, I've been asking around to see if I can get my crank no start problem solved. I have a 1997 E420 and the car would crank and then not start. Weirdly enough once I changed the fuel pump and fuel filter and it started right up with no problem. Now it just cranks and doesn't start, I even installed a new K40 relay, new spark plugs, new battery and fresh gas, still a no go. Could it be a faulty fuel pump, cps, or something completely different? Hope to hear from you!!
@Firm40015 күн бұрын
Hi thanks for watching our video. Honestly it could be various issues since it’s a much older vehicle and OEM parts have reached its point to being replaced. But the amazing thing about European cars is that they LAST that long.(My recent replacement part on the Mercedes E320 was the OEM radiator). Anyhow does your car start and drive and then shuts off intermittently while driving? If that’s the case its your alternator. Another starting issue I encountered was from an 07 Honda Civic where it took a few months for the actual replacement starter to give out so from that experience that I dealt with perhaps your starter is going bad as well. It can also be a defective fuel pump, perhaps check your wiring connections to make sure you placed the wires back correctly on the fuel pump as well as the fuel pump hoses and the orientation if it was put back correctly. Also make sure you purchased the correct sensor because the older model is different than the newer model. The current issue that I have yet to fix on our E320 is that the car is now on “Slave Mode” meaning it is now stuck on first gear and needs the “conductor plate”by the transmission I believe that’s the name of the part that needs to be replaced but would require the vehicle to be on a lift or jacked up in order to get to it which I would take part in that replacement when I have time which I would love to do a video on that and share with you guys my experience. Sorry for the long response. Hope this helps.
@ntkid416615 күн бұрын
@@Firm400 No problem thank you for responding so fast!! I have definitely heard that they are very reliable machines which helps me sleep at night lol!! And a couple years ago when i did get it to run with a new fuel pump the car drove and idled fine, I even turned the car off and on to see if the problem was actually fixed and at the time it was. I have a brand new alternator that I haven't installed yet due to the fact that the car started with the what I think is the original alternator. And as goes for the starter I haven't replaced that yet and it could be a bad case of a bad starter as you mentioned. What i'm thinking right now though is either a faulty starter or a bad cps. When I installed the fuel pump years back everything was in the correct orientation so I know i'm good there. And I saw that the sensors were different so i'm getting a brand new OEM Bosch sensor for the E420. And I have heard of the conductor plate needing to be replaced I wish you the best and luck with getting that done, is it possible it can be done without a lift and around how many miles do they go bad? I know you mentioned it having to being jacked up so if it can be done without a lift that's always a win. Also if you have time feel free to check out my YT channel where I document the process of me rebuilding my E420. The channel Is @MBE420 i'd appreciate it!! Also thank you again!!

I have a wining sound and I’ve been told by a mechanic that it’s the power steering pump but by a different mechanic that it’s the ac compressor but I’m not sure if that’s could be the case too
@Firm40024 күн бұрын
@@rubenangulo8467 Hey Ruben thanks for watching our video. Hope it was helpful. The ac compressor on our vehicle is working fine however if you’re looking to check to see if yours is bad, there’s a video by RB the Mechanic showing you how to see if your ac compressor is good or bad. I will provide the link below this comment. Now if your power steering pump is bad you can obviously tell when you are steering your vehicle and the whining noise starts to sound off. Also a dead giveaway is when your are low on power steering fluid and there’s leaking fluid where it’s located underneath by the front passenger side wheel. I believe the rubber seals on the power steering pump go bad and leaks the fluid and the power steering pump on our vehicle is due to for a replacement because we are experiencing these issues at the moment and will do a replacement video when we have the time. Hope this info helps and thanks again for watching our video.

**BEFORE Making a comment stating that “Your Installation Experience Was Smooth & Easy” - Was your Mini Cooper Headlight lighting application H13 Halogen to H13 LED? OR Was it the 2013 HID Model w/ NO CLIPS that only require to only twist to secure the square base of the D1S HID bulb onto the headlight?? If it was one of those two types mentioned then those two installs are fairly simple and straight forward. Please dont post negative comments confusing our viewers as this installation has the clips holding the D1S HID bulb which does give you limitations when removing/replacing the bulb. I’m no rocket doctor but this is possible without removing the headlight
@Firm4002 ай бұрын
@@cbase85 it’s not possible because the process to install aftermarket led lights for this vehicle you would be limited with space to mount the led bulb with the headlight H4 bulb retainer clip. The H4 LED cooling fan will limit your ability to mount the bulb with the clips and at the same time the actual rubber dust cap I believe needed to be installed as well therefore we had to remove the headlight assembly, take the H4 3-notch LED clip off and install that first and the rest of the installation steps you see in this video is how they were installed. If you happen to install them yourself without removing the headlight or happen to come across another KZbin contributor that has shared that method we would love to see and learn from that method as well. This method was actually recommended by the actual owner of this vehicle and we helped with this install. Thank for your insight and watching our video!

How to know if both cylinder and brake shoes have to be replaced?
@Firm4002 ай бұрын
@@davidhenriquez9562 Hey David. Thanks for watching our video and for the question. So from my past experience, how you would know if the cylinder is bad is obviously if it’s leaking brake fluid from the wheel as well as a routine brake fluid fill up are major signs. Bad brake shoes is usually when you do hear and feel grinding noise coming from the brakes as well as while applying the brakes you would have to “pump” the brake pedal additionally to stop your vehicle. Common sense is if you’re having a struggle when braking then obviously your brakes need to be changed. We do recommend you consult with a reputable experienced mechanic to look at your car and see what other issues you may have with your vehicle.
