Jodeci is so deeply underrated they they had three platinum albums back to back and they never have been nominated or won a Grammy like it doesn't make sense they should have multiple Grammys and multiple albums out Devante wrote and produced all their music and he's so deeply underrated as a producer and songwriter he doesn't get the credit he deserves.
@TaiParsons-mv5wdАй бұрын
Because they were not good enough for Grammys judged by the way they dressed didn’t make it passed BET and other awards shows

Seems like over time Dalvin has kept himself and the group together and he sounds as good as he ever did. K-Ci is back in full swing and sounds great. Devante is always Devante . JoJo is the one that has the ongoing health issues do to their past and it’s sad to see.

You want to talk about a group that sabotaged their career when there should have been no stopping them after TSTATH their third album it was Jodeci and it didn't make any damn sense. They were totally self contained wrote their own songs and produced themselves after their debut,. It was crazy and then you had all of the Jodeci wannabes come along.
@shakenblake45333 ай бұрын
I still dont understand how they just decided to disband for decades after their 3rd album that went multi platinum and reunited decades later...they've should've kept the momentum going
@spacemind8636Ай бұрын
@@shakenblake4533multiple things was going on: - Devante stopped coming to session - Issues/Creative differences between the 4 of them. - Not getting paid the amount they deserve. - They disband because it was according to Devante's plan: if Jodeci blow up, everybody should do their own things, even if they are separated , the tree is always gonna be jodeci. They never stopped recording, they just stopped putting out records (contract issues with universal) They supposed to do their comeback in 2001 but again contract issues.🤷🏾♂️ To think of it, Devante had so much pressure in his hands: Jodeci, Da Bassment, Suge asking him for tracks, etc... But hey, Life🤷🏾♂️

Is Misa telling us that a grown Sean Combs was dating a high school girl?? That's interesting.
@makedab46143 ай бұрын
Interesting, what Misa said about the Gotta Love video contradicts what Mr Dalvin, said about the stying in his interview with Halftime Chat. Devante also minimised Sean Combs' input with Jodeci in his interview with Trevor Nelson. I'm inclined to believe Jodeci in this instance as in my opinion Misa and her ex don't demonstrate creativity. In the Trevor Nelson interview Devante explained that Jodeci were ted up in contracts with unfavourable terms, which made it easier to stop making music. He and Dalvn also boosted their income by producing compilation albums, from Dalvin's interview with Halftime Chat, it seemed as though Devante doesn't like the spotlight. Devante created a legacy of quality music and I'm glad he didn't oversaturate the market like how Timbaland did because in my opinion you can tell that Devante was an extremely talented musician and a far superior talent, and his work was of an excellent standard.
@AbouttheMusic7293 ай бұрын
Idk. I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. I doubt that a newly signed group had enough creative control to style themselves. So I don't think they styled themselves for the Forever My Lady album but that doesn't mean they didn't have input. I think they took full creative control for Diary of a Mad Band. K-Ci's interview on the R&B Money podcast spoke to that a little bit. I like Timbaland, his catalog is amazingly creative! There's so much we didn't get from DeVante - so many collabs that couldn't happen because his time in the industry was so brief. He said in an earlier interview that working with Janet was one of his goals but he never got to achieve that. MJ picked him to produce the entire Invincible album but things didn't workout. So, he was set to be major. I get what you're saying about over-saturation but, to be honest, DeVante should still be out here making massive amounts of cash writing and producing just like Missy and Tim. The artist development he was doing with Da Bassment Cru was copied by Puff and Missy. He doesn't have to make another song but I miss his sound and wonder how it would've evolved. I wonder what a Kendrick and DeVante collab would sound like or what a DeVante and Chris Brown collab would've been...heck what an Aaliyah and DeVante collab would've been?? Now you got me writing novels 🙃. Thanks for watching :)

Use your brain…..don’t be blinded by fandom!!!!! Misa and Puffy did style Jodeci in the beginning…four country dudes were not dressing like that in 1991…that look was New York/UPTOWN New York to be exact (Mount Vernon, Harlem, Yonkers and the Bronx) I’m speaking facts….I know my shit….and I know these people personally…Mr. Dalvin is the fashion in Jodeci…on the second album Dalvin linked up with stylist Sybil Pennix and put their fashions and wardrobes together. ASK ME HOW I KNOW
