Cool, I am taking a PT certification program at Berklee, and the course work is pretty demanding and fast paced, I am struggling to be honest but it is pushing me to be better, I am a simi retired older dude who came up on 4 tracks analog and the Roland digital hard disk recorders, I was a novice with Pro tools but that is changing I am even starting to like the boring part of it like elastic audio, beat detective and delay compensation functions… I am currently in the PT 110 course. But it sounds like FS course is even more intense..what I have learned is that doing is much more valuable than reading or watching a video and when you add all three you then begin to get a deep knowledge and confidence breeds more enthusiasm to keep pushing. These courses is what separates the boys and girls from the women and men you have to get on your A game or be left behind so I often find myself working in the course 4-7 hours a day. It has to become the center of your life to get up to those elite levels.

Dude this video is amazing!! I'm so glad that I found a student on here that is able to give some info on what I'm going to be going through. Thank you so much for sharing. And like you I too am going through some crazy stuff right off the bat in my educational journey lol. My wife and I are currently about to move, we have a third baby on the way, and I am still struggling with self confidence issues from my work accident 2 years ago when I lost 2 fingers on my left hand. As a guitar player and song writer, I have been struggling to re-learn most everything about guitar with 2 fingers, but I decided to pursue a journey here at Full Sail so that I can record my own music, and help other musicians along their journey as well. I seriously look forward to seeing more content from you, especially in my courses to come. and again, thank you!!

How is the schedule set up? Do we log in at at scheduled times for lectures or is it more of a self paced (set up your own schedule) type of classes? I start July 31st 🎉 GOOD LUCK TO YOU.
@marcusraynal Жыл бұрын
Sorry I'm replying so late! Congrats on starting at Full Sail. I'm sure by now you've got a hang of things. Most lectures happen at set times however you aren't absolutely required to attend. Otherwise, everything is primarily self paced. Let me know if you have any other questions.

@marcusraynal Жыл бұрын
The schedule more so depends on you. You'll be given dates to have assignments submitted by. It's on you when you finish those. There are some lectures and such that occur at set days/times, however, there are usually archives so you can watch them later. Certain classes demand more time than others. All in all, you can definitely make this program work with that work schedule.

Hey! I’m looking into the online music production course. Is it like a full time program or is working a full time job out the question.
@marcusraynal2 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply. It depends on the class. Most of the classes don't take up that much time. Some I can do a week's worth of assignments in like 2 hours. Albeit, that's just doing the graded stuff and not necessarily reading the assigned material or doing the ungraded work etc. I have had some classes that consumed 25-30 hours per week on the low end. Overall, you can definitely have a full time job while in the program.

I'm going to full sail for Graphic Design in October. Is it worth it?
@marcusraynal2 жыл бұрын
If you're asking if the Graphic Design program is worth then I can't answer that. My program is focused on music production. If you're asking if going to Full Sail is worth it then I would say that depends on your goals. For me, my goal wasn't to start the program not knowing what a scale was and come out on the same level as Max Martin. For me it was about the connections and resources I could/would obtain. Albeit I'm not expecting to land some life changing production job when I graduate. You have to also think about the difference between going online vs on campus. That's going to be two VASTLY different experiences. Especially if you live in a different state. I lived in Kissimmee (south of Orlando which is south of Winter Park so about an hour away) when I started. I also started smack dab during COVID. So I didn't have access to the campus at first. However, I was able to record a project on campus before I moved out of the state. I'm not going to lie, Full Sail is expensive. It's up to you to determine if spending $50k+ is worth it. For me, It would say it's been 80-90% worth it. I went in with practical expectations (from years of online school experience and college experience in general) and am coming out with practical results.
