Genuine question. I've never played bannerlord *online* but it looks kinda... lame? No offence. Why do ppl play it if there is Mordhau or Chivalry 2?

Both are games in the same category (medieval), but each has a different vibe. Mordhau and Chivalry 2 are excellent, I love them. There is no competition, there are great games. Bannerlord is one of them. The atmosphere of MB has been unique since the first one and I think that makes the game so interesting.

I play more on PC, but yesterday I played on Xbox. It is really good on console. The multiplayer seems really smooth.

Also I recommend charging then pulling out and charging again with cav. Infantry destroys cav if they’re all caught in the the clot of soldiers

The only thing I’d change about the combat is the way you select what swing you’re using because I find it clunky to string together combos however maybe it’s just cause I only have like 12 hours played

You can't play with the soldiers after your character is dead, unfortunately. The only option is to change with mouse button clicks to view them.
