What a sick version of East Bay! I love that sort of experimental ambient section.

Cory Henry had set the bar too high for synth solos. Laurance is sort of ok, doesn't blow minds.

The album version has Justin Stanton playing the solo, and it sounds great.

Cory Henry is indeed mind blowing, but to me Bill Laurance has such a distinct and unique personality in his playing. I personally loved his synth solo

@@EBCArts True that. I also think Shaun Martin is incredibly melodic in his playing, and it's quite impressive. The only keys player in the band that I have yet to really gel with in terms of soloing is Bobby Sparks. And I still think he's awesome.

@@aweso100 i feel very similar about Bobby Sparks. And yes Shaun Martin is amazing. Also love he and Bill’s independent original music

M. League's face at the break leading in from 1:19:45--after this gal thoroughly handled Corey Henry's infamous solo, on flute, with this weird/awesome swing feel that Larnell threw in (apparently improvised)--has got be the highest compliment you can receive as a jazz musician. Like: "you're in!" "You killed it!"

Correction! It's Sputz on the skins for this song only, but Larnel is the one w/ the big smile/reaction while watching in the back at 1:16:45 when sputz throws the swing/hip-hop beat curveball. ♥

Snarky puppy HAVE TO put Elena Pinderhughes on their next record. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a flute solo on a snarky track before (I know Chris Bullock can play flute but I’ve never heard him solo) and this was so good.

I've seen her live several times now, and every time I see her pretty much regardless of the context I'm always floored by the casual mastery she has over working the band and the crowd when she performs. Obviously it's a very different approach, but she really does have James Brown levels of stage presence and charisma. It's really something to behold.
