My name is Francis James Jr. That is me sitting to the right. Thank you all for asking permission to use my paddle song. Yes go ahead and sing this but please acknowledge the composer before hand. These paddle songs are much more than just songs. They are medicine to not only us human beings but also to our canoes. When we travel on the coastal highway we paddle in one heart, one mind, one speed. All my relations. T'emexwtel

I was walking the Musqueam trails in the spring of 2012. Being around that type of environment with the tall cedar trees and hearing mother nature in her glory motivated me. All that motivation and good thoughts and prayer went into the song making at that moment. After singing the song I asked my family and friends if they ever heard it before. If they haven't then I will bring out the songs. My cousin Bearon was the one who named the song. I hope this helps you.
